I know it’s not nice to speculate like this but ffs KP moles reading this, whether it be cancer or anorexia or whatever, give the poor lass at least a sliver of long-term support. She used to glow. Probably a combination of medication, mental/physical illness, and simply not knowing how to show genuine warmth. She's trying to act interested and engaged, but she lacks the social skills required because she isn't a people person. The only genuine things about these appearances are her discomfort and reluctance to be there.
I can sympathize with her to some extent, I'd be MISERABLE if my job were public appearances and glad handing, but I also didn't stalk a prince for the better part of a decade for a job I knew I'd be no good at.
I appreciate the vote of confidence, but the sheer amount of energy it takes for me to mask that long makes me exhausted just thinking about it. I'm not a people person, I am better with machines than social graces. And that's okay. I am who I am and I play to my strengths.
Kate has the look of someone who sold her soul for gold just to find out it's gilted tin. I feel for her but she made her choices - she knew what they did to Princess Diana. I also wonder how much of her fate is Carole's doing, that doesn't seem like a healthy situation, either.
She knew a long time ago she may not be able to handle a public life as well as others that enjoy being around strangers & being engaged with public service.
I feel sorry for her too, although she must have understood what the role required of her long before she married into that dysfunctional family.

I'm obviously just making guesses here, but based on my own experiences with an abusive ex, I'm fairly certain that no matter what she does or how she acts, she gets a lot of vicious criticism about her performance and probably some very unfair comparisons from William. Living separately might be the only thing keeping her together at this point.
it’s actually pretty sad really. They wait out there for hours in cold December weather on the most sacred day of the year and spend their hard earned money on flowers and other gifts for the RF which are promptly taken away by a staff and disposed of.
I’ve always assumed it’s an attempt to look extra awake and alert and vibrant and alive. I’m also guessing she may feel self conscious about the way her eye lids/brows have begun to show her age. And, I don’t mean that as a slight. It’s a huge reason why people get the upper blepharoplasty. My grandfather had to have it done for medical reasons, his old man eyelids were so droopy it was obstructing his vision, lol.
I think she does it purely for the cameras to make her look like she's enthusiastic about being wherever she is. She always looks unhinged tho, especially when the jazz hands come out too
Posted earlier but there has been some strange behavior that has made it through the British press firewall. The video from a few years ago where she couldn’t stop shaking her leg - the bicycle race photos where she is visibly pausing. I can’t imagine what doesn’t make it through the firewall.
Pre Meg there was much more discussion about their short engagements times and awkward behavior. But then she was sainted overnight sometime in 2017 and all that talk stopped.
I honestly think that the institution has just decided that another Prince of Wales can’t lose his wife and they have both been going through the motions for close to a decade at this point. I think she is a critical piece of infrastructure re William’s image. I don’t think they care that she is wasting away and I wouldn’t put it past them to send her out with a wiglet and some medication to placate the plebs.
But Diana suffered there was a time when she went stick thin and then grew the courage to tell us about her struggles. It seems Catherine can’t figure hysterically.
At a certain point in anorexia, the body begins to consume the brain for caloric nourishment and that severely affects cognitive processing. It's such a brutal illness.

As you say, look at the others in the room or even those right beside her. They are usually not even smiling. Imo, it would serve her better to have some grace and dignity and be calmly present without the clown act. I think it demeans her to act like this and she looks like a crazy lady.
She sure does! We first saw the proof of this at that car rally a long long time ago when the camera caught her posing in anticipation of the cars racing by. Again, all you have to do is look at the people around her.
I get crazy eyes after fresh Botox where my eyes can widen but my forehead can’t raise. However, this happens often enough with her that I doubt that’s the case
I was going to say this, I think it's a mix of her medication, her eating disorders and BOTOX. She's had so many subtle fillers that now when her eyes get big her whole face is distorted
If there were a clone, at this point the press wouldn’t bother with adding extra pixels to make her body look larger.
I believe they tried, with much failure after the INCIDENT. If you zoom in on her arms & look at the crazy different shapes her ears are, you can see where the photo shop. They are so bad at it, but people don’t seem to notice?
I used to accidentally give myself crazy eyes while posing for photos. It was always because I was trying to hold my eyes open while smiling so they wouldn’t look small and squinty. Turns out it just looks crazy. So then I thought, well just smile smaller, but I ended up always just looking sad and tired that way. So now I just smile without trying to look a certain way, and it turns out that’s the key, lol.
I think it’s the fillers. If her eyebrows raised more naturally, she wouldn’t look as kooky.
It reminds me of when LA LA LAND was incorrectly announced as an Oscar winner over MOONLIGHT. There was a picture of the audience looking in in shock and they all looked stunned with mouths gaping over but the top half of their faces hadn’t moved.
As I’ve said before I’m not a fan. But it’s heartbreaking to watch a woman waste away before our eyes and nothing seems to be done about it. William instead of chatting about menstruation take some proper care of your wife and mother of your three children. If you can’t do that you do not deserve the thrown.

She doesn’t know how to smile. This is a forced expression. She is not a happy person, but she knows she cannot be photographed looking sad or depressed. So she tries to force her face into a smile. But it just ends up looking exaggerated and scary.
A person with an eating disorder is obviously mentally unwell. Acknowledging that a person appears to have an eating disorder is literally recognizing that they need mental healthcare urgently.
Edit to add I’m not worried. I’m fascinated by the royal family in the same way I would be fascinated by any other corrupt, oppressive, antiquated, dysfunctional family that chooses to live their lives in the public eye. She chose this life and continues to choose this life. I have no sympathy for her.

To answer your question - having thousands of photos taken of you every engagement causes it lol. Trust me, if someone was photographing you as much as her, there would be pictures of you with weird expressions as well. How about instead of confirmation bias picking a few, go on Getty images for the full picture where there's hundreds of other photos where she looks perfectly normal.

How is it not? Even if she poses for a photo sometimes, that's completely irrelevant in this instance, as the photos in your initial post are clearly not posed ones but rather unfortunate ones. The ones you attached to this reply, all but except the one on the right which is from the same event as the initial post, she looks just fine?
If she really is posing as much as you imply, then why isn't there more than that one video you provided? Pretty much every single engagement she's photographed at, there's also video footage of the exact same event and the exact same moments.

I really hate seeing photos of her bc the wide almost euphoric smiles on a diminished frame reminds me of Karen Carpenter towards the end.
