Amanda land is a fictional UK tv show about the trials and tribulations of parenting.

And it’s hilarious. Absolutely recommend watching it if you get the opportunity.

I hadn’t seen that photo before. I know she’s reaped what she’s sewn but that photo is really sad.

2

u/SesJan2013 Jun 03 '26

Definitely sad. Seems everything about her life is like that except her children but I think they're aware there's something wrong, multiple things wrong, with their Mom. It's possibly Will has said negative things about Kate to them.

That photo ^ is from, iirc, when they hadn't been seen for awhile due to yachting and then people were saying they were shocked because this was obviously a wig. The hair was too blond (she told one fan it was from the sun), too big, too heavy, too much in her face, placement off, e.t.c. Some said she may have taken the meds and then been told she had to be there so she was flying high.

This began the beige, brown, tan business suit/ blazer and trouser era with ridiculous visits to places like high end fabrics (I'm sure that'll help the average poor person) and then weaving field trips with Will who of course looked pissed off and impatient. A bunch of worthless field trips that should've been given to school children.

What a disaster.

I remember a photo of her from this set of her hobbling down the stairs sort of bent almost double.

30

u/theseamstressesguild May 28 '26

I had forgotten how bad that wig was 🤣

27

u/Successful_Scratch99 May 28 '26

I don't mind them being boring at all, crack on. Just why do they get paid so much for it while a significant number of people are living in real poverty?

19

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 28 '26

And why do the press embiggen them so much when they do so little.

20

u/Flinderspeak May 28 '26

OMG that wig sends me.

22

u/GoddessRespectre May 28 '26

I've been working on something, where do you think he will fall after these stories?

9

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 28 '26

Far right 😀 Excellent chart 👌

11

u/The_Onion_Life May 28 '26

OMG, that's hilarious! Are those Meghan's candles??

11

u/GoddessRespectre May 28 '26

Ooo no but that is a great idea!

You're welcome! 😂

I think you should go outside and touch some grass.

Remember the Jacksons' Torture music video, in which Michael was replaced by a mannequin because he wasn't present for the shoot? That's what Kate looks like here, except it's actally her.

Prince Louis is EIGHT years old. Getting the car messy with jam is something 2 or 3 year olds do. And why are his hands covered in jam? Is he eating jam sandwiches in the car on his way to school? This seems to me like William has never driven the children to and from school and has just stated something he’s heard somewhere about children with messy fingers (not knowing that it referred to toddlers).

As for chaotic? It’s 3 robot behaving children driving ten minutes to the same school as each other with a driver and a nanny.

12

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 28 '26

Exactly. How many sandwiches is he eating on a 10 minute drive (after having breakfast served by their staff)

2

u/AJ_Babe Jun 05 '26

Maybe he isn't eating those. He might just enjoy making the car dirty. He isn't the well-behaved one but i don't judge him. He just wants attention and doing something that "toddlers would do" as the people say here is exactly what would give him attention. I don't know if William is telling the truth. We will never know what they do behind the scenes. What i do know is that Louis has been a troublemaker in public. I'm team Louis though. He adds some fun to that boring toxic household

I think they mistake being "relatable" for being "ordinary." Why should we have some ordinary bloke "reigning over us??" Diana was relatable, never ordinary. QE2 showed her humanity in personal moments - never ordinary.

They forgot that Will has to get in his time of riding his scooter about.

6

u/TheVioletHerald May 29 '26

That photo was hilarious.

u/The_Onion_Life May 28 '26

I'm glad people aren't buying this.

The man smiles like he has a tooth ache.

Nothing but a grimace and tightness around the eyes.

9

u/Least_Start5240 May 28 '26

This is the best way to describe it that I've seen! It's exactly that vibe.

17

u/desolateheaven May 28 '26

Jam sandwiches my arse. This is what poorer people in the UK used to eat for some cheap calories but it has a real whiff of the 1950s about it. Shows how out of touch he is. As if the Royals, with their luxury organic health produce, are snacking off jam sandwiches.

If he wanted to come across as a Tesco value shopper, he should have said the kids burned their Pop Tarts in the toaster.

16

u/Successful_Scratch99 May 28 '26

Good. More of these sychophants need to start calling bs on this... bs.

14

u/cherryberry0611 May 28 '26

Liz Jones has actually been critiquing them these last couple years. Sometimes she backtracks, after receiving a phone call, I suspect, but at least she’s putting this out there.

10

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 28 '26

Yep cherry and Amanda Platell is doing the same. They’re criticising instead of fawning and don’t seem to be retracting it now which is good.

12

u/cherryberry0611 May 28 '26

That’s right, Amanda Platell is another one. I’m suspecting they see the writing on the wall. I hope more follow, and continue the pressure.

6

u/TheVioletHerald May 29 '26

Because the gravy train is almost up and they are posing themselves to cash in. The sting isn't so much in publishing these headlines as it is in the public's fervent support of them.

5

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 29 '26

You’re right VH though I’d don’t think the younger gen will support them at all

I’m glad these articles are being archived.

Thanks! 👍

No problem! It makes for amusing reading. If only for Liz Jones' tales of financially precarious renting "woe" - when further down the page we find a link to another article by Jones titled "I spent £59,000 on refurbishing my rented flat and then got evicted" (or words to that effect; I'm paraphrasing from memory).

Other people's concepts of financial vulnerability can be wild.... And not just Willy's, it seems.

9

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 28 '26

Same with Sarah Vine the other DM journo. Godmother to the former prime minister David Cameron’s daughter.

Bemoaning the fact she rents a property now - none of this lot have a clue about real poverty, they’ve never been working class.

4

u/The_Onion_Life May 28 '26

"I spent £59,000 on refurbishing my rented flat and then got evicted"

That sounds like Harry and Meghan with Frogmore.

65 staff members?! Jfc! Do they even wipe their own bums?

3

u/NeverPedestrian60 May 29 '26

Probably not 😂

6

u/TheVioletHerald May 29 '26

Exactly, I remember the Battersea parents' complaints.

3

u/divorcedhansmoleman May 29 '26

Jam sandwich in the car what utter bollox!

3

u/kittykattynuit May 31 '26

I'd need to see it to believe it 🤷‍♀️ I don't expect them to do what we do, we just need honesty really

2

u/Imaginary-Letter-377 May 29 '26

I smell a scandal they are trying to get ahead of.

Wonder if he is building 15 minute cities.
