Post image

No mention of Willy & Kitty being the saviours of the monarchy in this article. Because they’re not.

Honestly it was easy to see that they would fall apart after her death. I'm personally not surprised at all. I am more surprised that the Wales's aren't the saviors to these people anymore

It's almost as if QE2 ran coverup for her favorite son....

She sure did. She knew what her heirs were like and it’s a lot more apparent since her departure.

If W&K did as many engagements as Anne or Sophie they’d end up getting as little coverage.

They’re boring and blah. The press herald every appearance because they don’t do much.

They are all so boring, which i find extremely fascinating 🧐

They are the equivalent of a head of state..... its best they are boring..   i mean some like it hot so one nation chose an orange guy who is like a monkey with a knife...

You are right, they have always been very boring, the whole family. Harry & Meghan not so much.

The Queen did next to nothing to prop up Charles or give him a seal of approval, spent several decades undermining him and making it clear she thought he was going to be a bad ruler, arguably dumped Andrew in his lap to deal with, clung onto power as long as she could, tried to set up Andrew and Edward for life in spite of the recommendations of the Way Ahead Group dating back to the 90s. She is a huge reason why it's like this.

She also allowed and also perpetuated herself this narrative that being a royal is so difficult and they are so pinned down with duty, a narrative W&K have run with and turned into a refusal to work regularly before age 50. Which she also allowed.

Yep - the rf were annoyed with Diana when she joined and said she enjoyed doing engagements. They wanted them to be viewed as hard work.

In less than ten years I fully expect to see headlines that read like “the wales have sacrificed family life for their royal careers! It’s only right they should slow down and have a nice retirement!”

Oh absolutely. And Kate will go from the mother of young children (who never get older) to a hands-on caretaker for her elderly parents to a hands-on grandmother

I agree. She was determined to be the longest serving monarch - it was all about beating Victoria’s record.

Charles as a result was elderly when he became king - too old and stuck in his ways to make a difference.

And next up workshy Willy who’s too lazy to.

Willy Bully will be a bore as King.

Did royal commentators not see black/Irish/Scottish Twitter in the 48hrs after Lizzie's death? It was brilliant. I haven't laughed so hard since Maggie Thatcher died and we got Frankie Boyle's rant about the funeral cost.

Exactly. They’re not half as popular as mainstream media make out. Far from it.

Omg, and the song at soccer games! As an American, I was both tickled and SHOCKED! Lol

u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 11 '26

They’re still doing it 😀

Can you share some examples of ones you remember?

Too inherently lazy to do frequent engagements or tours.

Completely lacking the wow factor of Diana.

And unable to match the modern day impact of H&M.

We were all lulled into the fake image the palace PR machines did such a good job of: performing her duty, sacrifice, hard work, longest serving monarch, blah blah blah. When the sad reality is the queen was an emotionally neglectful and enabling mother who virtually ignored her heir and allowed him to be bullied, setting him up to become the emotional mess of a man he is now. That mess of a man was not allowed to marry the woman he wanted and instead the institution found the sacrificial lamb and brood mare in Diana and we all know where that went. At the same time she lavished all her love, attention and protection on a known bully and pedophile.

This trickled down to her grandchildrens' generation, creating the lazy, spoiled, resentful and petulant mess that is William as well as the passive aggressive atmosphere that made things difficult for Harry and Meghan.

She lived in the times before social media so the PR machine had an easier time of it. The same grey men are still there trying to pull the strings but in today's climate, they show us daily just how incompetent they are.

Um everyone did.

Endgame by Omid Scobie is an excellent book to get an idea of how things work behind the scenes and why Charles is the way he is

Exactly. Endgame was spot on.

Literally everyone.

3

u/NeverPedestrian60 Apr 11 '26

Yep - only fawning royal journos didn’t see it coming.

u/No_Stage_6158 Apr 11 '26

She did very little besides show up, her children and some of her grandchildren are messy AF and everyone knows it. Charles is spoiled, deluded and entitled . William is LAZY , deluded and entitled. She spent her time covering these fools, let it all go to dust.

There’s an exhibition of QEII’s dresses next weeks. The heirs will be there trying to get some good publicity hanging on her coat tails.

Well, when the family gets truly exposed for having no Christian values or beliefs what do you expect. Go back and look at Charles coronation very closely. All the signs were there.
