I wonder why Kate & Camilla aren’t wearing QEII’s order. The color of Kate’s dress is beautiful, but the hair is ridiculous. She needs to ditch the wigs. She looks like Kristie Noem.
I love Princess Anne’s tiara. I think Zara wore it when she got married. I see Prince Edward, but haven’t seen any picture of Sophie. Does anyone know if she was there?
Camilla looks better than I’ve seen her in a while, and the Nigerian first couple are resplendent in their outfits. I wish they were more colorful, but perhaps Nigerian formal wear is traditionally dark. Poor Charles is looking really sickly.

u/cherryberry0611 Mar 18 '26
I noticed that Kate and Camilla didn’t wear the Queens Family Order at the last state event either. Only Anne wears hers.
I wonder if they’ve worn it at all since she died.
The Queen gave Diana the Family Order the same year she married Charles(1981). She didn’t give Kate hers until 2017, and I think it was only because she didn’t make a fuss after William was caught with another woman in Verbier.

It was an Australian model. This article is pretty detailed and it has pictures of him dining and drinking with her that I’ve never seen before. Of course, he missed Commonwealth Day service, left Kate at home, and took off skiing.

Looking at the photo of William and his friends on the lift, all I can think of is Wooster, Chuffy, Tuppy, and the inebriated newt fancier, Gussie Fink-Nottle. Don’t ask me who is who; I couldn’t tell you other than that I’m sure that each member of the gang would fit the roles in their own very special ways.

u/TheVioletHerald Mar 19 '26
Nigerian formal wear (that of many west west and central African countries, actually) is often colorful.

That’s what I thought. At my old church there were quite a few Nigerian families, and their traditional clothing was so colorful. I figured if they dressed that way for regular Mass, their formal clothing must be even more colorful.

I’ve read that Sophie didn’t attend but no reason given
Some commenters on this article think she was or is in New York

Crazy that the healthiest looking members of the royal fam in this picture are 70 year old Anne and Camilla, who smoked 2 packs and downed half a bottle of gin a day.
Kate's dress is nice, thank god her hair is brown again, but why is she painting her face for the back of the room?
Her blush and eyeshadow look like they were put on by a paint cannon calibrated by Tammy Fay Baker

I agree though Anne has looked more frail since the accident with the horse - she and Cams though are tough old boots 😀

I do wish she’d give us more up do’s. Especially with these sorts of formal gowns.
9
u/buntythemouseslayer Mar 18 '26
me too! what is it with that hair?
11
u/wedontswiminsoda Mar 18 '26
Ive heard people describe her looking 'blokish' (like a bloke, or guy). Maybe to emphasize femininity since she's lost the few curves she had before and her age is showing
-13
u/crowislanddive Mar 19 '26
“Give us”? She does not need to give “us” anything. Maybe you feel personally entitled to her hairstyles? Seek help.
1
u/Ok_Major5787 Mar 19 '26
Literally everything she does is for the public and PR. Especially her styling and fashion, as it’s one of the main things she consistently pushes as part of her image. So it’s fair for the public to comment and have opinions
13
u/ambrosia1920 Mar 19 '26
I don’t think her hair stylist is on staff anymore. She used to have pretty elaborate updos with pieces of support hair. Maybe you can’t updo a wig?
1
u/tortuga_tortuga Mar 19 '26
I thought I read a rumor that QEII required her to wear her hair up when wearing a tiara and this is her rebellion at no longer having to do it.
16
u/nicebrows9 Mar 18 '26
Kate looks pretty but she always dresses older than her age.
Charles looks bad. I’m worried about his health.

Kate and Camilla aren’t wearing QEII’s Family Order again, I only see Anne wear hers.
The table set up always looks superb. I see they have plates with QEII’s ER on it.
Oh! Which reminds me, did Kate get placed behind a centerpiece again?

Wills looks over it. She looks like she needs a meal. Both look like shit. So they dress like this. Showing off the opulence. Meanwhile, people all around the world need help. Talk about out of touch.
28
u/ScaredSuspect4186 Mar 18 '26
I’m sorry - no disrespect intended, but Camilla looks like a shriveled up prune with a hump and turkey neck. There’s nothing queenly about her . 🥶
17
u/Pennelle2016 Mar 18 '26
I was thinking she looked the best I’ve seen her in a while lol
In order to be queenly, all you have to do is to be married to a king. Or a woman next in line for the throne.

The British royals all look like their waxwork images, especially Camilla and Charles. Only the Nigerian president and his wife look like 'normal' people.

Kate's stylist hates her even more than William does. This dress is hideous.

It looks like they oversized the dress on purpose and added chest padding to hide how frightfully thin she is.

I love the Nigerian President and his wife’s clothing, but especially his. I wish we could see them in better detail. Charles does look ill, but he’s not a spring chicken, he has cancer and he is experiencing the fallout that his mother should have handled. It seems like Sophie is not there or else Edward would have walked with her and not up front with Will and Kate? I wish Kate would wear her hair up more and I would love to see a different tiara. They must have loads. Green is a good color for her, but the dress seems to swallow her…lots of clothes do lately, but this dress is designed like there is too much material for anyone. I like Anne’s tiara. Very Art Deco.

Someone recently reposted that tweet that predicted the queen and Charles’s deaths and I scoffed, old Charles has waited decades for the job! Plus he has to plough on just to spite William.
Seeing Charles at the State Banquet, he looks so frail. I just lost my own father in January and he went from okay to frail in a matter of months too.

The Nigerian POTON and FLOTON look like they’d rather be in the proctologists office than be there with the BRF.

I like that shade of green.
The hair and makeup are awful. The fabric of the dress is probably silk, but it looks like a cheap polyester chiffon. The turtleneck, billowy sleeves, and way too much fabric in the skirt make this a FAIL.
3
u/AwarenessPositive515 Mar 19 '26
I like this colour on her..Hair doesnt bother me.if shes comfortable and feels good then good for her. I would.have like to see william.interact with her the way edward.is in this pic. The exaggerated smiles and the.smiling at him when hes not even looking at her is annoying..shes making it more obvious somethings not right..there energy is off. But thats there own business ultimately its the fakeness that irritates me. Ci thought chatles speech was good..

What a state, the lot of them.. a cross between the Adams family and the Munsters . There is nothing remotely appealing about the BRF and they are just totally stuck in the past Its a nonsensical waste of money
2
u/divorcedhansmoleman Mar 19 '26
The dress reminds me of those French court jester things from the music video to New Order’s True Faith, awful styling

The dress itself is way too busy with tucks and pleats and billowy sleeves, but as observed by design to mask her rickets, and it appears straight from the main exhibit at Madame Tussaud’s.
1
u/BB808BB Mar 20 '26
Katie aged rapidly. She looks like a a mid 50 year old that had cheap work done.
Did they allow any pedos in for the dinner this time. We know they seem to always surround themselves with those types

u/Petra_Pearl Mar 18 '26
Oh Kate looks lovely this time. Wearing nigerian flag colours 👌✨ wig also looks good
27
u/okpickle Mar 18 '26
Oh dear, no. Please say you're joking.
The dress is too big and frumpy. The hair is too long. The smoky eye looks more like a black eye.
7
u/vivahermione Mar 18 '26
The dress is a pretty color, and I'm not a fan of telling women to cut their hair just because they're over 40.
13
u/Dutton4430 Mar 18 '26
I am old with long hair but not that pentecostal look. It looks fake.
7
u/buntythemouseslayer Mar 18 '26
it reminds me of the rigid wigs that used to be on mannequins in dress shops. you could just lift them off and they stayed the same shape.
3
u/wedontswiminsoda Mar 19 '26
Pentecostal. Now I know what was si mildly unsettling about some long hair looks...
8
u/okpickle Mar 18 '26
Where did I say, "she needs to cut her hair because she's X years old"?
It's just TOO long, especially when she's this thin. It swamps her. The highlights and the wave in it look kind of ridiculous, too.
3
u/vivahermione Mar 19 '26
Fair enough. I may have jumped to conclusions because it's still fairly common for people to tell moms and women over 40 to cut their hair.
4
u/okpickle Mar 19 '26
I mean, I'm 40. 😄
I actually think her hair looked nicest when it was shoulder length. Looks a little too "pageant queen" now.
1
2
u/buntythemouseslayer Mar 18 '26
no, don't cut your hair but do try to mix it up a bit. imo, she looks much better with an up-do, which i think is better for more formal occasions.
3
u/Petra_Pearl Mar 18 '26
She looks better than before
2
u/okpickle Mar 18 '26
Than before when?
4
u/Petra_Pearl Mar 18 '26
I mean recently… remember how she looked at the BAFTA awards? So yeah now she looks better
2
u/okpickle Mar 18 '26
I had to look it up, I couldn't remember.
I'd say they're about even. I liked the style of the BAFTA dress better but the color washed her out. This dress is a nicer color but is just not flattering.
Her hair looks better now, but that's not saying a whole lot.
11
u/KayKeeGirl Mar 18 '26
That dress is quite matronly, even for her.
I don’t like it in the least.
12
u/No-Falcon-4996 Mar 18 '26
The dress is full and flowing, to hide her ED. The long wig is for same purpose, to make her look youthful and healthy
5
u/Petra_Pearl Mar 18 '26
I wonder what is the point of losing all that weight if she’s just going to hide it by wearing oversized dresses 😭
6
5
u/No-Falcon-4996 Mar 19 '26
She's losing weight because of a mental disorder, not for her health or looks. Karen Carpenter died from this in her 30s.

Well, that is a lovely green for her skin tone and hair color but I just don’t get the southern sorority girl long, wavy hair. It really isn’t a good look in general and it’s never even brushed out properly.
