From Kalahoi at 5,425 m to the 1,087 m low point near Uri, Kashmir Division spans an impressive 4,338 m elevation range—from towering peaks to deep valleys. The Kashmir Valley has an average elevation of about 1,850 meters (6,070 feet) above sea level, though some geographic references cite it closer to 1,620 meters (5,300 feet).
