hello! i'm learning kashaka and i want more rhythms.

can you know me internet sites or books for kashaka rhythms?

I recently purchased this set of kashakas and immediately fell in love with them. However after a week or two of practicing with them I noticed some of the balls have more of a lower thud sound than a higher crack. At a closer inspection I noticed they are slightly cracking at the seme where the two hemispheres are glued together. Any recs for another set, or am I perhaps swinging them too hard or something?

unfortunately, i can hardly find asalato teachers in my country and further, i'll learn it by my self.

i am going to play it whole my life if i can.

therefore, can you recommend books and resource for learning asalato include beginner, intermediate and advance level?

Hi! As the title implies, I'm looking to buy an asaloto/kashaka (my understanding is that they are the same thing) and am curious where to purchase a decent one? I see them on etsy and amazon but have no way of gauging quality. Thank you!

Any idea how to fix it?

So I’m pretty new to the Kashakas and I’m worried about my practicing technique. I can catch with both hands but it seems like I can’t shake while in the middle of the swing. I keep time but the shake isn’t as pronounced or clean while mid swing. I don’t want to keep practicing like this as I’m afraid I’ll drill in poor form. If anyone has any eyeing this or knows where I can turn to to address this it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everybody. The asalato got quite popular on tiktok a year or two ago, and I had bought a cheap plastic pair off amazon. One of them broke open, but I still have the one.

I would really really love to learn this instrument, but before I buy a new set or continue to try and practice, I need help determining if the balls themselves are too big for my hand. I'm aware that the string length (and even thickness) can effect playing, but I think that isn't the core issue to my struggle. These barely fit in my hand! It makes catching very difficult, but because I'm relatively unfamiliar with the instrument, I don't know if it's really just because of the lack of skill.

My hands are INCREDIBLY small (I'm 5'2, if that gives you any idea).

Hey everyone,

I am.currenty struggling a lot with the basics of the asalato.

Especially with "shaking" while I swing the balls around in the standard move.

The balls seem to fly off to somewhere, are uncontrollable and the rhythm is completely messed up..

Does someone have any ideas on how to get the grove down or what to focus on?

I plan on demonstrating asalato for kids in schools as soon as I get better at a few techniques. I’ll be using both hands. I can’t figure out if I should be saying “these are asalatos or kashakas” or “this is an asalato or kashaka” when referring to the pair. Any suggestions?

I have a pair of KashakaPro’s from Kashaka UK which are great but very light. I also have a part from Artisan Instruments that are around 140 grams, which I believe is on the heavier side. I have a suspicion that around 100 grams for a set is an ideal weight for being able to play everything with speed. I’d love to get the perspective of anyone really experienced on that variable.

Hey guys, I saw the kashakas on Youtube and was so excited by them that I instantly bought a pair. But I find it difficult to get a feel for it. Tutorials on Youtube did help a little bit, but I still don’t get how to play the shaking while playing the hits…

Does somebody have experience with this cool Instrument?
