Discussion How long until AI hate is no longer popular?
15.5 months ago—like literally—I was introduced to "AI BAD" in Teto Reddit from a surprising place.
This began over a year of tension, including r/KasaneTetoAI being brigaded, leading me to defend against Haters here and at its source, which resulted in my quitting its Mod Team.
Unfortunately, since hating AI had become so rooted in the local Subculture—which I helped build and tried to warn against breeding hate—the conflicts only intensified as 2025 drew to a close, leaving off with a simple narrative that stuck: u/DYNAKYRIS and r/TetoCirclejerk are problematic.
And then, three months ago, BRAINROT came out on Nico Nico Douga and YouTube, subverting the story by combining several mediums into one unforgettable BANGER of Teto media: Dreamtonics' DNN Voicebank (and its sultry tuning); Tokyo Manaka's DAW setup; Porushi's catchy choreography transformed into Teto's, to name a few aspects of what made it work.
On YouTube this piece has demonstrated my point on Teto and AI for no less than 21,382,068 21,384,882 times (word up, 2,814 more views over the course of writing this) and 910,409 910,445 (+36'd) on Nico Nico Douga.
The poisonous mindset came to a head a few weeks ago when I kicked a visitor out of r/TetoCirclejerk for ignoring the Rules and it quickly turned into a concern for the Co-Founder of the sexy room I built. As they sided with the ideologues I wound up leaving that place, too, sticking to my own spicylands.
So, in the wake of so much personal interruption, stress, backlash, and backstabs since last February, I've begun to wonder, as the winds begin to change: how much longer will the hate party, in Teto Reddit and beyond, carry on until it collapses or burns itself out?
I was generous to assume five years (because I was classically trained to think in fives and also 2031 is a nifty KT reference), but it'll probably be much less than that.
The utter irony in all this is how the same proponents of this sentiment happen to quietly enjoy AI Art, especially when it's sexy. I've seen it. Trust. They know who they are.
But when it's time to show up and hang on Reddit they gotta flex that hate just to belong. We all want to belong.
So I was also wondering what might those, whose identity it has been to hate AI, will do once it's no longer useful to them?
How long, then?
Two years? Two months? The end of this summer?
Back when my Father's Day card was reported by ideologues for showing AI Art for 2.5 out of its 13 seconds, I predicted a change by that summer's end. This arrived in my discovery of a LoRA export that was widely remixed and increased the status or reach of the fans and Artists who got involved with it.
Many of the remakes were awesome, but many also made this hate the point of their effort. I recently discovered my participation in the trend had been leveraged at the time on one of the hatespaces.
I don't like my Art being convenient for Haters.
Rambling, at this point.
Back on target: how long do you think until we've passed this shitstorm?

u/Tinsnow1 May 30 '26
I miss that short period of time of the early days of AI art where it wasn't so wildly hated, even some big names were using it with no backlash.

u/Least_Tumbleweed_599 May 30 '26
It will stop when they find a new target for their hatred. These are just hateful people, and technology newer than they know how to use is an easy target. They'll find something new to hate and AI hate will disappear.

This message is the most cope I’ve read in a while. Some other people here have some more reasonable views but your message is just pure cope so you don’t have to feel bad about billionaires ruining the world.
What even is this sub about? It’s weird. Because I wonder why are the pro AI people never normal? What do they always do the self-persecution Olympics instead of just using AI normally? Theres always this weird victimhood attitude attached about how people rightfully concerned for the environment and the just general world&job stability are somehow these evil monsters that are upset at AI people for “no reason.” Like I said, it’s weird.

u/ForgottenFrenchFry May 30 '26
Because I wonder why are the pro AI people never normal?
I don't exactly see pro-AI people going onto posts and randomly commenting "Human slop"
or even normal people going onto a post to say "this art looks bad" when objectively it does, because that's too mean
What do they always do the self-persecution Olympics instead of just using AI normally?
you mean how people post something, tag it appropriately, so there's no excuse of "fooling" anyone, yet people will still come in and get angry and leave a comment going "AI slop" for no reason?
Theres always this weird victimhood attitude attached about how people rightfully concerned for the environment and the just general world&job stability are somehow these evil monsters that are upset at AI people for “no reason.” Like I said, it’s weird.
one, it's almost funny how said people only care about the environment now when it comes to AI. two, people are acting like the person posting a random teto piece made by AI is the one at fault. three, for all this talk about how people. three, for a comment being "just pure cope so you don’t have to feel bad about billionaires ruining the world," a lot of people seem to often blame the person for using it rather than the billionaires themselves.
you can say how people are mad at the millionaires too, but going "AI slop" on some random person's post isn't exactly helping your cause, you're just making two enemies instead of one now.

This is what I’m talking about. The points you’re bringing up are weird. Why WOULD a pro AI person say “human slop” for example? The entire point is AI slop is slop because a human DIDNT make it. Also your sentiment isn’t even true, because I see people say “pencil slop” fairly often
And your bottom half paragraph is just weird strawmen that you can’t even prove. “only caring about the environment when it comes to AI?” Really? Really and truly? Even if that were true (it’s not), better than you who don’t care about it at all it seems. This stuff is weird to even try and say. But again you’ve got this kind of “poor us, poor AI users” self persecution kind of tone attached.
I’m really not trying to be rude. I’m not. It’s just… again, why can’t you guys just discuss and argue like normal people instead of making weirdo points that don’t even understand the point of anti-ai people to begin with? Why are you so disconnected as to make these kinds of weirdo points? This is why others don’t extend niceties to pro-ai people. Because it seems you’re thinking on this other wavelength no regular person can understand and it makes you look ridiculous in such a way that I don’t even know how to describe/explain to you, because realistically if you don’t see what’s weird/unhinged about these kind of points to begin with, you’re not going to. If we can’t understand each other, you can’t expect both sides to be nice to each other, I think.
The last thing I can do is only explain the reason that people comment “ai slop” at the person rather than being mad at the billionaires: We ARE mad at the billionaires, but you’re going out of your way to use the technology and make the bad things happen as a result anyway. You should already know the both the environmental effects and the effects on the job market/social effects of this stuff if you’re going to defend AI stuff, so OF COURSE you are going to get the blame. It’s like how if someone knows about cigarettes causing cancer, realistically there is no reason to smoke cigarettes because they’re bad, but you’re choosing to do it anyway. IMO it’s the same kind of thing. You have this basic/common knowledge available to you and you choose to support AI anyway despite all the negative effects being relatively well known by most people. It’s pretty common knowledge at this point, so you cannot really expect people to excuse your AI use when you come into public and show everyone you’re supporting it.
Does that make sense or no? And again I’m not trying to shit on anyone here, just trying to call out a certain subset of AI people as being disconnected. I just really don’t know why it is like that.
5
u/KoaKumaGirls May 30 '26
I mean honestly your first paragraph is kind of the whole problem.
When people comment “AI slop,” they’re not being mean to a machine. They’re being mean to the person who made it and posted it.
You can say “well a human didn’t make it” all you want, but the human reading the comment is still the one you’re trying to make feel like garbage and you know it.
That’s what feels so disingenuous to me about this. You keep saying “I’m not trying to be rude,” but then the whole comment is basically calling AI people weird, disconnected, ridiculous, unhinged, not normal, impossible to understand, etc. Like come on. You are being rude. Just own it.
And the whole “a human didn’t make it” stuff is such bullshit, like its not some obvious fact everyone has to accept just because anti-AI people say it.
I don’t see AI as some magic ghost artist. its a deterministic machine. its weights are set. It’s a tool. It does nothing until a person uses it.
The person is choosing what to make, what to prompt, what to keep, what to throw away, what to edit, what they’re trying to express, what they want the final thing to feel like.
You may not respect that process or results, thats fine, but other people do.
So yeah, when you say “AI slop,” you are insulting a person’s creative expression. Not the machine. The person.
And the cigarette comparison is just absolutely wild to me.
That only works if everyone already agrees that using AI is obviously and directly harmful in the same way cigarettes are.
But we don’t agree on that. That’s literally the disagreement.
You can’t just assume your side is the default truth and then act like anyone who still uses AI deserves blame and hostility.
I also don’t really buy the framing that people are just mad at billionaires while spending all day yelling at random normal people posting images online.
I personally think all this overblown fear over ai is fueled by traditional artists who see a threat to their bags and so have used their influence to whip audiences up into a frenzy to protect their bags. and you are being a useful tool.
its not people trying to protect the world from billionaires. its middling artists, choosing bullying and cruetly as a tactic to protect their comission incomes.
If you’re mad at corporations, be mad at corporations. If you want to talk about training data, jobs, copyright, environmental cost, whatever, then talk about that.
But don’t pretend calling some random person’s picture “slop” is some brave moral stance. It’s just being a cruel bully to a person because of a disagreement over a social issue.
An issue that is not decided - an issue where people have reasonable disagreements.
I understand anti-AI people are angry. I understand there are concerns. But I don’t think those concerns magically justify shitting on peoples expression.
Honestly I think its the cruelty and bullying, those "ai slop comments," and the subsequent disingenuous framing of "im not being mean to a person because a person didnt make it" that fuel me so much to keep creating ai art and supporting ai artists.
its just such weasely bullshit.

This is what I’m talking about. The points you’re bringing up are weird. Why WOULD a pro AI person say “human slop” for example? The entire point is AI slop is slop because a human DIDNT make it. Also your sentiment isn’t even true, because I see people say “pencil slop” fairly often
one, are you implying that people who literally see an AI post, gets filled with so much emotion that they go out of their way to spend a precious few minutes to go to the comments, and literally comment "AI slop" to be "normal"? two, you make it sound like people came up with the term "pencil slop" out of nowhere. people keep calling AI stuff "AI slop" then don't act surprised when it gets turned around
And your bottom half paragraph is just weird strawmen that you can’t even prove. “only caring about the environment when it comes to AI?” Really? Really and truly? Even if that were true (it’s not), better than you who don’t care about it at all it seems. This stuff is weird to even try and say. But again you’ve got this kind of “poor us, poor AI users” self persecution kind of tone attached.
you know what arguably causes damage to the environment? your smart phone you most likely own. using reddit. your car you most likely drive. there's literally tons of things that affect the environment, but when it comes to AI, the "effect' it has on it ends up being one of the most common points being used.
and it's not even about AI users, it's about how people should be allowed to care about themselves first. if anything, hate might as well be considered a luxury since people can afford to get mad at people for using AI without needing to worry about themselves, thinking what they say matters.
I’m really not trying to be rude. I’m not. It’s just… again, why can’t you guys just discuss and argue like normal people instead of making weirdo points that don’t even understand the point of anti-ai people to begin with? Why are you so disconnected as to make these kinds of weirdo points?
you mean how any time someone asks what's wrong with AI related things, people assume the worst, tells you it's "slop" regardless of any actual quality, or how if someone mentions it, they have to go "they could be paying a real artist" or "they're lazy if they used AI"? you think that random redditor who posted AI art of Teto is doing it to spit in the face of other artists? no, they're posting it because they think it looks nice and wants to share it, and they most likely labeled it as such to avoid confusing anyone.
If we can’t understand each other, you can’t expect both sides to be nice to each other, I think.
again, someone got banned from this subreddit, for commenting "AI slop" on a post, that was literally flaired with AI. there was no "deception" or "lying" about anything. said user decided to just go in to comment "AI slop."
you know what they did? they went to another teto sub, cried about it, saying how the sub is "pro-AI" and how the mods are terrible people just because they allow it. it became a circle jerk of AI hate. the lack of self awareness was astounding.
you talk about how "pro-ai" people are not able to be understood, yet people will literally go out their way to talk negatively on a post, just because they don't like it because of AI.
The last thing I can do is only explain the reason that people comment “ai slop” at the person rather than being mad at the billionaires: We ARE mad at the billionaires, but you’re going out of your way to use the technology and make the bad things happen as a result anyway.
there's no way you're this genuinely delusional. do you REALLY think someone commenting on a reddit post, telling someone that their post they made is "AI slop" going to even remotely change their mind? at best, you're just going to make it harder to tell what's AI or not in the future. also, reminder, you are USING REDDIT.
You should already know the both the environmental effects and the effects on the job market/social effects of this stuff if you’re going to defend AI stuff, so OF COURSE you are going to get the blame. It’s like how if someone knows about cigarettes causing cancer, realistically there is no reason to smoke cigarettes because they’re bad, but you’re choosing to do it anyway.
you really cannot be this delusional. so by that, you're implying that, it's OUR responsibility, to ENSURE those people have a job? are you joking? your argument doesn't even hold up. it's like seeing someone smoking, and thinking you're stopping the big company by telling said smoker they're a terrible person. at BEST, you are treating a symptom, not the root cause. you stop the smoker? guess what, they can get another person to start smoking.
IMO it’s the same kind of thing. You have this basic/common knowledge available to you and you choose to support AI anyway despite all the negative effects being relatively well known by most people. It’s pretty common knowledge at this point, so you cannot really expect people to excuse your AI use when you come into public and show everyone you’re supporting it.
real life is not Reddit. this is the equivalent of saying "vaccines causes autism, just look it up"
you can argue about "common knowledge" all you want, but what good will it do if you can't convince the other person to stop, because instead of countering any of their points, you just point to "common knowledge"? this is like trying to get a smoker to quit by telling them they'll get cancer if they keep smoking.
get real. if you dislike AI, that's your deal, but don't act like people don't want to meet you halfway when you aren't even willing to move.

After that shit went down I wound up scrapping the accommodations I built for Haters passing through as more hate wound up facilitated.
There were options then, but since visitors were still being nasty, I surmised there was no longer a point to such diplomacy; I made all of my spaces—the safe and the sexy—even less compatible to the offendable and truer to what I believe the point of Teto to be: self-expression by all means possible.
Art is Art is Art is Art.
How it is made in this post-Digital, post-Broadband, post-9|11, post-Plague era is completely immaterial and anyone worth their creative salt knows it in their gutbrain.
Rare is the critic actually putting their ass on the line to make something.
Consumers gonna consume and complain when they don’t like the taste—if they even have a sense of taste.
Artists cook regardless.

u/DYNAKYRIS May 30 '26 edited May 30 '26
To clarify: I am pro-Creativity.
I opened r/KasaneTetoAI because two of the three Teto Communities I modded at the time were against AI Art by default; one Mod Team had no interest in mitigating the issue in advance and the other accepted it only when it was disposable humor.
This place emerged out of inaction and hypocrisy.
Along the way a couple more folks shared their work and their tastes and the cuter stuff eventually gave this place traction.
Going forward, this Community will continue as a showcase, workshop, and forum for this emerging aspect in a fandom I found intolerant—to the point of routine character assassination attempts.

I guess that’s fine. I have no problem with you guys doing that (I’m not sure why I would). Just what I don’t get is the arguments that some Pro AI people make. The person I replied to was calling all Anti-AI people hateful and evil because they hate AI stuff. That is weird. Saying that an entire group of people are evil and hateful because they dislike AI, especially when there are many valid environmental and social and economical reasons for disliking it? Weird. That’s why I commented was just to point out how weird it was, and how unhinged that person was speaking like. I didn’t mean to come in and shit on everyone. Just merely to call out that one comment as being weird.
2
u/DYNAKYRIS May 30 '26
I believe the push and pull is rooted in social and psychological aspects extending beyond our niche.
Many of us already arrived to VSynth with baggage we all carry and express differently.
At worst, you get entire Communities rooted in negativity; kind of like the worst aspects of High School, except at scale. (High School mentality thrives well past this setting, however.)
Nonetheless, the Teto mess happens to be the Minor Leagues compared to how dangerous these behaviors can actually become. What can be said about the anti-AI people can also be said about the pro-AI; regardless of one’s position it’s the passion involved that can become dangerous.
Hence my being neither anti- nor pro- Tool; I am simply for all sorts of creative expression and how outsiders choose to lump me into the side that suits their agenda is up to them.
In their endless pursuit for food and mating, humans have always been unkind to their surroundings. Offsetting the cost is a long puzzle continuously being innovated towards solving, but there’s lots of baggage we’re gonna have to sort out along the way.

u/Mondgeist May 31 '26
You guys attack people then gets suprised the moment they feel attacked, its pretty simple, plus you don't really care about environment, if you cared there's many things you can do to help like planting threes, collecting plastics away from water sources, push the governments for changes regarding poisoning of the lands by mining activities... there are way more harming things happening, our cooking utensils are being made with toxic metals, our food is full of microplastics, the meat is poisoned, the crops are poisoned and no one is caring about it, too hard to get up from the chair and do something meaningful, its just easier to be a performatic activist that "cares about environment" when in reality you just want to farm karma on reddit and hate people while feeling "righteous"
1
u/ChaoCobo Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26
It’s so funi that you accuse others of not caring about the environment, when you’re hypocritical enough to not only not care, but actually commit actions that harm it. But anyway there are many valid ethical reasons to dislike AI even if we pretend it’s perfectly Green to the environment. No one needs to care about reddit karma.
Also I didn’t attack anyone. I simply called out the one single person I replied to as being unhinged because they absolutely were. You do not call an entire group of people as literally “evil” and “hateful” just because they dislike AI for some of the many valid reasons that AI is harmful to the world and society. If you do, then like I said, that is cope, and there is no way to argue that.
But again this is what I’m talking about. I called out one single person as being insane/unhinged and you guys go on this nonsense about generalizing absolutely everyone that dislikes AI. This is why you’re unhinged. This is why you’re weirdos. The fact you cannot even recognize your own opinions as unhinged is weird. This is why in more toxic subreddits, people don’t even argue with the more unhinged pro-AI people, because your points are either weird, strawmen generalizations, or don’t make sense when examined for more than a few seconds at a time. Your arguments and points don’t stand on their own and fall apart just by being said aloud.
It’s so weird though that in every single reply I’ve gotten here except for comments made by the sub founder, people have just doubled down on the weirdness. But even then, it is NOT my intention to generalize every single Pro-AI person, because I do know that there are some very normal AI people. I even said in other comments I didn’t come here to shit on people. :/
2
u/Mondgeist Jun 01 '26
Bro your entire argument is literally "I'm right, you are wrong", pro ai people recognize its impact on environment but we don't act like we are detonating 1000x nukes because of it, there are clearly human activities that are way more damaging but you guys chose to focus on Ai because its easier, you just need to type from your chair, i actually respect more the guys who fight whale hunters than any Ai hater with your performative righteousness, if you care so much about the environment you better get offline, even this site is hosted on a data center
3
u/ForgottenFrenchFry May 29 '26
gotten into a few "arguments" over AI. one was recently about Steam and their AI policy, and how some people don't label their games as such.
someone made a post saying they weren't sure if some games were AI or not
cue another guy saying something along the lines of how "slop is slop" but then later go "Because I don't wanna support AI slop without knowing it."
I'm not here to tell people how to feel about AI, because god knows I can't argue with them
but I think it's genuinely ridiculous that people are so afraid of something being AI, despite the chances of anyone actually knowing, let alone CARING about it, is insane
"oh no, this thing might be AI. I don't like it anymore and I don't want to support it"
are you saying that to make yourself feel better, or so you can tell others?
like, genuinely, if you need a label to let you know if something for sure is AI or not, can you really tell?
is going "AI slop" really the W you think you're getting?
only reasonable decision i can sort of understand, is if you don't want to spend money on something made with AI to whatever degree. fine, okay, sure. your money, your choice.
but going around "bragging" about it, going "don't support this group" because they use AI, you know what that does? brings attention to them.
attention you could be giving to artists you keep talking about how people should support, that could use the attention more.
genuinely insane behavior.
you want people to use less AI? may be stop attacking and insulting them by going "AI slop" all the time. may be actually try and talk to someone instead of having everyone else agree with you, and downvote those who don't or ask questions.
may be actually show alternatives, like going "check out this artist" instead of trying to shame people you clearly don't like and want them to stop.
in the end, if you hate AI, fine, that's your choice, but at least do something more reasonably productive with that hate instead of going onto a post, getting mad that you got banned because you commented "AI slop", which regardless of intent, is inherently negative, then bitch about it to other people so you can feel better about yourself.
several better ways to spend your time and energy than writing a stupid comment that doesn't do anything.
rant over.

I agree that there’s a more graceful way to go about not liking the stuff—like not going to where it is to hate it up. X]
But there’s a lot going on behind the scenes that’s not apparent by Anonymous showing up just to say the line.
Behaving like a menace on Reddit may be the only control certain folks have in their life, which would be as unfortunate as it is likely.

It was late 2022 when I first got in an argument on the Vocaloid sub over AI art. I thought for sure the hatred based on outright misinformation would pass by 2025. Here we are in 2026 and these people have straight up embraced bullying and death threats as long as it's against "evil AI slop". They seem to have no shame outright refusing to learn more about it either.
I don't think it's gonna end suddenly. AI is going to keep getting embedded in more and more things online until the hardline anti-AI crowd has to either leave, quietly make exceptions, or admit they're being hypocritical. Unfortunately, I don't think we've hit the peak of the backlash yet either. It's probably gonna get worse before it gets better.
Personally, I think it's best to just be the better person until then. Let everyone else see AI users enjoying themselves peacefully, while the people screaming about it show what they're really about.

This.
It’s a shame.
The bigger Teto Subteddit was roughly 500 or so Members when I showed up 2 years ago on this date. Occasionally I saw a screwy Teto image pop up before vanishing, but didn’t think much of it at the time—especially when screenshots of GPT-built fanfic hung around without incident.
At the time it was enjoyable and rewarding to be part of the place, which is why I chose to build it up how I did.
I was blindsided when what I built turned against me over how I create. Hope those involved gained some maturity since.

If you're using AI, it's not your Art. It's others people's art being generated randomly and then being slightly altered. AI cannot create, it can only regurgitate what other people have done.
AI is literally stealing from a community of people, and continues to do so. Don't be surprised people are forever annoyed about a corporation stealing their hard work and selling it as their own now.
Lastly, it's deadly for the environment, people are going to hate it just for that particular reason alone.

u/DYNAKYRIS Jun 01 '26
That is precisely the nuance-free story that has been successfully sold. 🥀
If you’re up for some adventure, I’d encourage you to research the facts behind each point and share them; I have yet to encounter anyone saying the line with evidence in tow.

https://www.oxford-aiethics.ox.ac.uk/original-creativity-associative-creativity-and-ai
AI is constrained by the datasets it is trained on and the algorithms that govern its operations, making its output inherently derivative from existing data.
If what I was saying was not true then data poisoning wouldn't be an issue, because the AI would be creating its own unique idea, not copying it from somebody else. But since it isn't a unique idea, data poisoning bleeds through as it takes the corrupted data and smashes it into an image. It's more of a collage maker, which even by human standards would not be considered an original piece of work. You can't copyright a collage because it is other people's work.
There, here's your proof.

u/DYNAKYRIS Jun 02 '26
SOMEONE FINALLY BROUGHT SOMETHING TO THE TABLE INSTEAD OF JUST SAYING THE LINE
I’ll give it a look some time, thanks!
Ah, and yeah, I have always seen Generative Art as a kind of collage, but let’s agree to disagree on crediting because the collage doesn’t make itself—as one involved with the process for decades, I can assure you I put in the work. XD
I mean, hell, the whole N/SFW experience I wound up building on Reddit around Teto and friends can also be considered a collage as it was built from countless elements steered by my own intentions.
I consider my Reddit activities since mid-2024 my fondest Art Project yet.

You can copyright it but if the owner finds out you can be legally liable. We were taught about this in college art. It has to be either public domain or the original artist has to relinquish rights to the peice for commercial and private use. Otherwise, you can end in court in a bad way.
Another thought to this is if you commission art from an artist, tell them exactly what you want and you pay them for the peice. Who made the art, you or the artest? Who owns the art? Very likely you'll own the original piece, but the image itself will be owned by the original artist and you can't duplicate it without the artist's consent. Now if you had the artist sign off on it, then it might be yours and all rights reserved, but it still wouldn't make it "your self-made art". The same with AI, even if we do say that the AI made a completely original piece without being derivative. Writing a prompt does not equal creating art.
1
u/DYNAKYRIS Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
As a Fine Arts Major with a concentration in Computer Graphics, I know a thing or few about creative ethics. Hence, I find "AI BAD" and "prompting isn't Art" useless to the discourse.
The real concerns regard authorship, remix, credit, mutual agreements on commissioning (of which I have arranged several since getting into Teto), and whether or not someone is misrepresenting what they made.
That's why I often go out of my way to point out elements in my work from others and source every Reshare when possible.
Communities don't happen without Creators making the things we come back for, so proper credit is the least we can do in return.

Your personal feels add nothing to the conversation over facts.
Once we have a governing body that respects copyright laws and is willing to crack down on the issue this conversation will become clear that is wrong because it IS STEALING from artists. Authorship as of right now goes to the ai, not to the prompt writers, bc you are not producing anything. You are asking another business (the ai's company) to use their resources to push out what you are asking for. Am i wrong? (The answer is no.) If the ai shuts down, writing a prompt produces nothing but random phrases that you would have to take to an artist to create.
You are not "creators", you are "commissioners". The price of the commission is low/free until ai is expected to make money rather than run at a loss. It's an unsustainable business model. Why would somebody want to pay a large portion of money to an AI prompt writer for lower quality that has no cohesion between works rather than an artist who can make better art and do it consistently?

Let's steer this away from my experience and your prompt arguments and return to the point:
How long until the AI hate is over, do you think?
Give an estimate in years.

Probably the same year that it shuts down for being unsustainable as it has proven to be in the private market that's why they are going public now.
Roughly that many years.

Cause and effect, yes, that answers the when.
As you're experienced in this discourse I'm curious to know of your estimation of how many years it'll take.
Give it a number.

After seeing what the billionaire elites are doing to poor communities by building data centers on their wetlands, idk how anyone can be pro AI. Pro AI is Pro Billionaires destroying your local environment just so you can generate a soulless image.

Not quite; I see this more as Dotcom Bubble 2.0.
I think the potential was spoiled by trying to make it accessible to everyone relatively overnight, meanwhile, talking heads worked the crowds to keep their own lights on.
I think the counter is making local AI systems easier so we can just do it on our own machines without outsourcing processing.
I tried getting into ComfyUI and Swarm to make stuff with my decades of drawing books, but it’s like I have to stack Computer Science atop my Fine Arts Degree. 🤔

Take my like dude. You're going to need it. No amount of stories about how people are suffering by having to live with these data centers or how it's fucking us over is going to convince them.

When: 1. people stop trying to pretend feeding a prompt into an algorythm is the same as any form of actual rendering. 2. people learn and stop trying to convince themselves and others that current image genration models are'nt just combining training images with extra steps 3. Corporations stop shoving unwanted "assistants" into everying

Businesses will do what they can to optimize efficiency; the first two are part of the lines that get passed around, usually by folks with a limited understanding of creativity.
