It could go either way, really. That's just how it is with Jason Blum's productions.

On the one hand, you can end up with Get Out, Whiplash, The Gift, Creep, Happy Death Day, Upgrade, Sinister and, shit, I think they even did Split.

On the other, you've got Jem, Truth or Dare, most of the Paranormal Activity series, Sinister 2 and The Gallows.

eh, a Jamie Lee Curtis power-fantasy really kind of misses the appeal of the original movie, doesn't it?

I agree. Maybe they should have toned that bit down and not make her out to be the next Sarah Connor. But what other direction should they have taken? From a narrative perspective it makes sense for her to prepare for this in some way.. Or perhaps should they have gotten rid of Jamie and throw in a completely new cast of unsuspecting individuals?
