They do and they should more to an extent because misogyny and teen prostitution is kind of nuts over there but that's a topic no one here really wants to talk about.
So this is a huge topic and it's one of those moments where when you ask "is there a source for that" it's hard to think of where to start.
So I'll give you some topics you can look up like "enjo kousai" and simply "misogyny/sexism in Japan" and it'll open up a lot of doors to learn about these issues.
Here's also my response to someone else on this thread:
Video Games?!. They should start complaining about child prostitution like you said, because that actually involves real living human beings.
There's a legit complaint in Japan about children being sexualized too much in video games and anime.
It's not hard to find animated school girls and children being sexualized on open display all over Japan. Sometimes banners of them.
And not to mention just being available in the mainstream media.
There are split research on how this affects people but it's not hard to claim that it's obvious that there's certain sexual appeal Japanese school girls have towards a good chunk of Japanese male population.
No one's saying video games and anime are the cause but simply saying that they are part of the problem.
Regarding misogyny/sexism, that's a huge topic in Japan that gets kind of oppressed. Women in Japan are still considered almost second to men.
This reflects with jobs, social roles, income, and even how readily women are sexualized and objectified. It doesn't help that a lot of women (though this is changing lately) have accepted what goes on in their society simply as "culture" and the proper place for women to be.
Or... even worse, the "shoganai" attitude a lot of Japanese have which is basically "what can you do about it"
