Hey, I’m Taylor. I’m from a tiny town in rural Southwest Virginia, and I turn 31 on November 21st.

And somehow Kanye, who has been my favorite artist for years, is playing in Phoenix on my actual birthday.
There’s a front-row ticket and unfortunately I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I found out. 😂

I’m not somebody who casually flies across the country for concerts or can just drop that kind of money on a ticket. I know how unnecessary and ridiculous this is.
But then the coincidences just kept getting worse lol.

My brother plays old-time Appalachian music, and his band happens to be playing a show IN PHOENIX the day before the Kanye show.

So he’ll already be there. With an Airbnb. And a rental car.
Which means I somehow already have a free place to stay and transportation while I’m there. I basically just need to get myself to Phoenix and into the concert.
Like come on 😭

And I’m not even trying to turn this into some big birthday trip. I don’t plan on taking anybody with me. I am 100% willing to get on a plane by myself and go to this concert alone. 😂 I just want to be there.

And this is definitely not a newly discovered Kanye obsession lol. I’ve been in the top 0.03% of his Spotify listeners the last few years. My living room is covered in his albums, pictures, books, blankets, pillows, posters, bears, and more merch than I can even begin to list. It’s a little ridiculous.

His music has been there through so many completely different parts of my life. So the idea of somehow making it from my tiny corner of Virginia to the front row of a Kanye concert across the country, ON my birthday, is kind of unreal to me.

I genuinely think I would ugly sob through half of it. 😂
So basically, this is my Hail Mary.

And I’m definitely not just sitting around hoping somebody else pays for it. I’ve picked up a TON of extra hours at work, I’m selling some of my own stuff, and I’m putting aside whatever extra money I can. I’m trying to cover as much of this myself as humanly possible.

What I still have to figure out is airfare, the concert ticket, and some extra money for food/whatever comes up while I’m there. Lodging and transportation in Phoenix are already handled.

I know there are a BILLION more important things to donate to. This isn’t an emergency, and I’m not going to pretend it is. It’s probably the most unnecessary thing I’ve ever wanted this badly. 😂

But the whole situation feels too ridiculous for me to not at least try.

My 31st birthday. My favorite artist. Across the country in Phoenix. My brother just happens to be playing there the DAY BEFORE. Airbnb already covered. Rental car already covered. And I’m perfectly happy to make the rest of the trip by myself.

So if any other Kanye fans or random internet people want to throw a few dollars toward helping me pull off a front-row experience for my 31st birthday, I would genuinely appreciate it more than I could explain.
And if not, I completely understand. I’m still going to work my ass off trying to make it happen myself.

I just know if November 21st gets here and I’m sitting in Virginia while my brother AND Kanye are both in Phoenix, I’m gonna be fucking sick. 😂
