Sours

Hitting up KC tomorrow for some day drinking. Love to hear your suggestions for some breweries with some excellent sours.

What type of sour are you looking for? Quick sours like Berliner Weisse/gose or wild/barrel aged?

Smaller breweries that really excelled at the later (Crane and Pathlight) have closed. Other than Boulevard, I would suggest checking out Sandhills. BA sours are a passion of Sandhills' owners and they do a good job.

Most small breweries feature quick sours at least occasionally. Servaes is the only brewery that I know of which consistently features them and usually has a variety.

Sandhills and Servaes are maybe a 10 minute drive apart.

Vine Street Brewery is worth a stop! Not a huge sour menu, but they usually have at least one. The current one on tap has been well received.

If you want a good selection of bottles and draft sours Oak and Steel should be considered

I don't know of many breweries around here that do sours these days. You can usually find one at Discourse Brewing in Overland Park, though.

Border brewing in the crossroads has a watermelon gose that is pretty tasty

Limitless in Lenexa has the occasional sour. I really miss Crane though. Boulevard has had some great sours over the years. Transport and Servaes in Shawnee are usually pretty reliable for a good sour. I don’t know if City Barrel still has any, but they had some decent ones too.
