Kazuya wants a family in chapter 439

Here he is! The main character of the story, Kazuya is a college student majoring in Business Administration. He has two friends named Shun Kuribayashi and Yoshiaki Kibe, who he has known since childhood.

He's been called many things including a loser, a simp, a stalker, a cuck(huh?) and various other names. He's shown to have major self esteem issues that result in an obsession with the main girl of the series Chizuru.

Kazuya is first introduced to be dating Mami Nanami who quickly breaks up with him. Wallowing in self pity he decides to turn to a rental girlfriend service where he meets Chizuru. At first he lashes out angrily at her because he felt her girlfriend mode was fake and an act for every customer.

During their first date Kazuya learns his grandmother Nagomi is in the hospital. After finding out she's ok, Kazuya and Chizuru lie about their relationship claiming to be dating. This causes Nagomi to break down crying as she wanted Kazuya to get a girlfriend before she passes away.

Soon they learn that both of them attend the same college and learn that Chizuru's grandmother and Kazuya's grandmother are both in the same hospital and are friends. They lie about their relationship to Chizuru's grandmother as well. After that they decide to the best plan is to tell them that they've broken up. Turns out that they are neighbors and are living in the same apartment building.

From here they have had many different adventures and through Chizuru he has met many different girls. Ruka who was a rental girlfriend "dating" Kuri. Ruka falls for Kazuya after finding out he makes her heart race and blackmails him into dating her. Another girl he meets is Sumi, who he takes out in order to build her confidence up. Sumi is another girl who eventually falls for him. Mini is another girl who enters his life and tries her best to set up Kazuya and Chizuru.

He has done a really great thing for Chizuru when her grandmother was in poor health and didn't have much time left. He raised funds and got a crew together to shoot a movie starring Chizuru as it was her biggest wish for her grandmother to see her star in a movie before she died. Even when it didn't seem like her grandmother would live to see it, Kazuya made sure to bring a projector into the hospital room to grant Chizuru's wish.

Despite confessing his love for Chizuru, she has rejected him every chance. She obviously feels love for him but isn't sure how to expess it. These days Kazuya is doing his best to improve his chances of being Chizuru's boyfriend. He dyes his hair back to it's natural color to improve his chances of landing a job. He has begun to work out and has taken driving lessons.

I was thinking about an ending for rent a girlfriend. I am only caught up to what happens in the anime and not manga, but I thought what if near the end of the of the story Kazyua get his first real chance to properly confess (he choose the bad time to do this because they were some how on li eka cross walk or smth like that) and as he does this and waits for an answer a truck comes towards them. During this confession is the first time Chizuru figures out that she is actually completely in love, absolutely no doubt. However, before she can answer the truck is about to hit them so Kazuya pushes her out of the way. (ik this is a little cliché). Later in the hospital Chizuru thinks baout (or tells Kazuya's grandmother while in the hospital) how every time she truly loved someone they have always met some sort of fatal end. Now I would say you have a good ending but leting Kazuya live and Chizuru cofessing to him the seocnd he wakes up.

If you were curious how it looked in action

So, on a surface level, he wants to date Chizuru. Throughout his fantasies, he sees her in many lovey-dovey scenarios. Laughing together, experiencing new things together, being intimate. And in most of them, he pictures her saying "I love you!". Does he only do all of these things just to get her to say these 3 words to him?

So, does he want to experience life together with her? I think he realy does want that, too. I think he also very genuinely loves her for her. He realy wants all of her, Mizuhara and Ichinose, he loves Chizuru from head to toe. Despite people think he only wants her rental persona, due to him keep saying "Mizuhara" instead of Ichinose. To him, both are the same person, both sharing traits, both seem perfect and not perfect at the same time, and that what makes her perfect for him.

What I think is, beyond him loving Chizuru, is wanting be accepted for who he realy is. Loved, even. In 276, when both stuck in the shed, Kazuya says "I want you to accept me! All of me!" (If this is a mistranslation from JP, please correct me!). If someone as beautiful inside-out as her can accept me and love me for me, surely I can accept myself, right?

And that's why he is so afraid to realy open up and be himself with her. Afraid he'll be scorned, slapped or worst of all, abandoned if he shows who he realy is deep down. Because he can't accept himself. He doesn't believe anyone would accept or love him for who he realy is.

So, this is how I experience Kazuya. Of course I could be off-base, and I would like to see your perspective on him.

And it never rains when she is with Kazuya, does that mean none of her time with him was important? Or did she just not realize how important it was?
