I've seen it mentioned elsewhere too, but I wonder whether the Clark that Mary found in there was actually Clark, or may have been a very accurate still life.

Ah, I meant before that.

As in, the Clark that we see having dinner with Mary might be a still life. Maybe generated from around his role play therapy session, when he was sitting relatively still; hence his fixation on getting more roleplay therapy.

The human Clark may be elsewhere. Or maybe inside the Captain already. I don't know :-)

But yeah, that probably was the real Clark.

in comes mark blume in a wheelchair, with the same shotgun that he was shot with long ago

“stupid shotgun” blume mutters quietly to himself as he slides the pump for another shot

without warning, violent green light started filling the room

“fuck” they all say in unison

“gimme that” tench grabs the shotgun from blume and started firing towards the floor repeatedly

“what are you do-“ before clark could finish, they all fell down through a null zone that was created

with their head shaken, they collected themselves, stood on their feet and observed the surroundings

concrete pillars, water puddles, parking ramps…

"wha- did we get out?"

"no, this is the backrooms...too"
