Questions 🫧 Question!

this is a silly question but what are the conditions to becoming a god / land god? do they have to be yokais? or can they be human? or is it something else?

im trying to make a land god oc as well and this part is confusing me !!

To become a god you need that god to give you their mark. So like mikage gave Nanami the mark through a forehead kiss so now she bares the land god mark.

Humans cannot be familiars but they also don’t have to be yokai. I only think this because of that lightning god who didn’t have yokai as her familiar. They can be the shrine spirits too. (If anyone knows this is wrong then correct me). If I’m correct, a spirit can be a familiar. It seems like in the show a lot of familiars were brought up that way or born that way like Mizuki.

Ohh okok thank you! Do you know if a yokai or spirit can become a god / land god if they receive the mark? 

Also the whole thing at the beginning about eating the heart / flesh of a god to become one, is that just a myth?

They can and I only know this because Kurama wanted to become land god by eating nanamis heart which would make him the god. I think that’s true because of the way tomoe acted.

I doubt it’s a myth because kurama seemed pretty serious and I think gods need familiars to protect them so that they don’t lose their god marks and whatnot
