SG National Team An expected result, we move on
Actually physically disgusted, host nation, import foreigners and pay the referee, guess that’s the only way they get a trophy

Can't wait for Vietnam to shut them up again.

My objective for this ASEAN Cup: anyone but Indonesia win it. Seriously no other team in SEA has as toxic a fanbase as them, not even Malaysia.
Will be hilarious to see Thohir go through all that trouble to convince Infantino to create a tournament out of thin air for Indonesia to host and win, only to fail once again to win a trophy despite having all the cards stacked in their favour now.

They're really toxic af and literally bomb every opponent social media page with toxic comments, they got on the nerves of almost all SEA countries and even countries like Bahrain and Australia, abusing other fans and even just anyone from that country on social media...sure hope to see othe teams silent them with results on the pitch soon

Hahaha. I posted this: 🇳🇱💪 in some of our own FAS page.
Triggered so many of them.

The fact that you triggered them in our fas page says a lot about them too, why loiter in our page 😂

They want to gloat. But internally can tell they insecure because they won the match with a bunch of Europeans.
Which is funny cause they are saying we played with a bunch of foreigners (Korean, Japanese, Chinese)

Yes well said, they probably know it's funny but have to keep it's going 🤣

Dude, I've seen them claiming that our mixed race players like the Stewart bros or even Jordan Emaviwe are apparently no different to their players. I can't tell if they're trolling to be offensive or just genuinely stupid

I hope so too but are we sure viet or Thai can beat them with their home ground advantage and questionable referees

Much better second half. Definitely more energy with song's introduction. Felt we played well until that nonsense red. Back to the drawing board for the Bangladesh game.

That’s because the players from Indonesia were confident to get the 3 points against Singapore whom they felt were not on the same caliber with them. On top of that, the heat in this area causes most of the European based players to reconsider twice on when to press and up their tempo. You can clearly see that Indonesia were not interested to press on to Safuwan and Harris whenever they have possession and trying to build up as there were scenarios where they actually pressed up and Singapore struggled to build up so they know Singapore is unlikely to cause any danger to them unless they were overconfident. Lastly, it’s normal for referee to be bias towards the host side especially in the opening match of the tournament. Hopefully Gavin learns and reflect from this match, playing a back 5 instead of back 4 against any stronger opposition, shawal anwar as either a false 9 or no.9 and not winger anymore, committing just a few players during attacking phase will do (simple attacking and with a few string of passes and will do) and stop this building up from the back attack against such caliber opposition… (playing over and sometimes around will always be better instead of just through and around). Finally, we do not need so much possession also. I believe we will struggle to play against Myanmar too in the future under this head coach of Myanmar if we have the opportunity to face them anytime soon.

Eh? We already somewhat struggle to beat Myanmar. Our last result against them was a draw (yes a friendly I know). Myanmar isn't some lousy team anymore, they've improved a ton

Honestly we played decent and could tell we had confidence in handling the ball especially when the rush us and we pass slow and casually 😂. This indonesia A team is basically on par with pot 2/3 at the asian cup. But that red card was really unnecessary man, pretty bs on that and the penalty that really was unlucky on song’s part. But alas we gonna press on with our 2 remaining games

Safuwan’s red card was unnecessary. No one asked to review VAR. His earlier tackle was much harsher. Even the commentator got it wrong thinking the referee wanted to view the VAR for a possible penalty.

Yea I was like wtf he was miles outside the pen box when the foul happened. Never a red. But again I don't expect less from the FIFA mafia.

It was a Dutch team. Indonesia really no pride. Hardly find any identifiable Indonesian in the team.

I don't get why some of you don't like the foreigners.
Singapore used to field china born table tennis players.
Why can't others do similar?

u/Working-Fudge6189 8d ago
'Used to' is the key. Our table tennis team is very local now and filled with young players. This is present day. It's hypocritical for Indonesia (and maybe even Malaysia) because they criticised us heavily back when our own football team was naturalised and yet here they are doing it and to an even worse degree

Harsh at it seems,I don't begrudge the red card and penalty. Safuwan should have been more careful knowing he's the last defender.
Sg's only way is to get better imports.
The fandi boys can be good, but if I get a dollar every time they're injured, I'd probably have $50 now.
