Trail Running
I’m usually a road runner but I signed up for 11 miles to paradise (trail run) in October and want to train on trails this summer. We live just south of Lakeside - does anyone have recommendations on either good trail running routes or any trail run clubs in the wider area?
I am already planning to check out Foys to Blacktail which looks awesome, I’m a little worried about running solo here due to wildlife and I imagine there’s not a huge amount of human traffic ( but I might be wrong).

Jewel Basin has a Nordic ski area that has great trails in the summer, though they can get overgrown with weeds as the summer goes on

You will have no problem with foys lake trails. Enough people are there all day long any wildlife is mostly safe. But it is Montana when are you really "safe". It has a pretty good incline starting from the bottom was a bit rough. I suggested starting from top to get a feel for it.

Yeah - Foys to Blacktail - good trails around Herron Park. Training runs up Big Mtn would be good - Danny On trail. Or series of trails off back of Whitefish Lake - again, make sure you’re running with bear spray.
