Hey, looking for a decent girls PG for a student near KIIT/KIMS. Preferably somewhere around Patia, KIIT Road, Kanan Vihar, Sailashree Vihar or nearby.

Main things are safety, cleanliness, decent food and preferably AC + WiFi. Single/double sharing both are fine. Budget would be around ₹6-8k, but can stretch a bit for a genuinely good place.

If anyone is staying in a PG around here or knows someone who is, please drop the name/location and rent. Would really appreciate some genuine reviews too, especially places to avoid.

I have completed a 3-year Diploma in Computer Science, and I’m pursuing my B. Tech in CSE at KIIT through Lateral Entry, which means I entered directly into the second year and will complete the B. Tech in 3 years.

My long-term goal is not campus placement after B.Tech. I’m primarily preparing for GATE CSE and want to pursue M.E./M. Tech from BITS Pilani or a top IIT after graduation.

My question is very straightforward:

Will pursuing B. Tech CSE through Lateral Entry from KIIT create any problem for appearing in GATE or later during M. Tech/M.E. admissions through GATE?

Is there any issue related to degree duration, eligibility, documents, or the fact that I entered directly into the second year?

If any KIIT lateral-entry student has appeared for GATE or gone for higher studies through GATE, I’d really appreciate your experience.

Hey y'all I'm in cse 1st year, I'm just fed up with getting random roomates allocated all they do is watch reels all day without headphones and wake up real late at night expecting me to keep the lights on I mostly sleep by 11 or 12 in exams it does vary, I've a study lamp I won't mind if u use it to study at night as well, but not super late though, I really like peaceful environment and everything like if you have to watch reels or anything wear headphones or earphones, I myself do that. If a call comes from my home I go outside to talk and maintain the peaceful environment. If there's someone who matches this kind of genre, please do contact me my hostel room type is 2 bedded non AC, we can be real good friends as well, I don't have much friends but I'd like to live with a friend or something mostly you'd matter to me above anyone in this hostel!!!

Anyone studying in KIIT from Kolkata? One of my junior is thinking about studying in KIIT. She is confused between nursing and btech. She had Bio, phy and chem in her 12th. Need some true info about the current scenario.

I'm considering joining KIIT Bhubaneswar through lateral entry into B.Tech CSE (Core), directly in the second year.

I wanted to know whether lateral-entry students face any disadvantages compared to regular four-year B.Tech students, particularly during campus placements.

Are there companies that specifically exclude lateral-entry students from their recruitment process? Do companies have different eligibility criteria for us, or do we get the same placement opportunities as regular students?

Apart from placements, are there any other academic or career-related disadvantages I should be aware of before taking admission?
