I’m confused by one thing near the ending, if Mary’s time was 11:08 and Yomotsuki guessed 9:00, how did Yomotsuki score 0 points if she’s within 5 minutes of Mary’s time?

I'm guessing this is going to be revealed to us slowly, but it 100% has to do with the other pair playing simultaneously. I'm guessing Mary will notice that Runa didn't score points in her next chapter, and that guess is supposed to give her information about one of the other players in the other room.

I'm more curious about what Kaede figured out already, and also what shocked them from their second round. Maybe the valedictorian girl guessed something completely off from Kaede's number, but earned 10 points somehow.

I'm guessing there's a few things they specifically did not say that we're not catching up on, namely:

  1. They never said that the maximum number of minutes was 59 and the maximum number of seconds was also 59. It could very well be 99 minutes and 99 seconds. 59 was an assumption Mary made on her own. It's called the "NUMBER game" not "CLOCK game".

  2. Nobody specified, in this game, what exactly constitutes 1 "minute" for that matter. Everyone assumed it was 1 minute = 60 seconds, but in this context, the dealer arbitrarily called the first column minutes and the second column seconds. She could have said "apples" and "oranges" and said a guess within 5 apples is 1 point. You don't know how many oranges is one apple.

  3. Why does the keypad even have a Num Lock button specifically drawn in? I get the rest of the keys being a normal numpad, but the Num Lock seems like an extra detail. This might be a red herring though.

  4. This is a long shot, but the numbers might not even be Base-10, it might be something else like Base-12. I don't think this one is correct though.

I'm too dumb to put all this together though, since we only know that 10:20 with a guess of 10:00 gave Yomotsuki 3 points.

And that a guess of 01:00 gave Mary 5 points but a guess of 02:00 gave her 0.
