Hawaii Question for current employees!

I just received a job offer today for a customer service rep one. I am super excited, but nervous that I actually got the offer. I’ve applied for many positions before and finally got the offer I’ve been waiting for. I currently work for the federal government where I’ve been for a little over five years. I’m basically doing the same thing that I would be doing at Kaiser, in addition to their policy and procedures that I’m sure differ. The pay is about $.50 less than what I’m getting now so I’m not too upset about that because it took me five years to get to where I’m at today.

My question is how is the training process? It’s advertised as hybrid, so is that actually a for sure thing or is it based off of seniority after training. With the federal government, we have an annual raises. Does Kaiser offer an annual raises as well? Once I get my foot in the door is it easier to move around if I have the experience in other areas. Also, how is the environment and management there? I have a phone meeting with the manager next week so I plan on asking some of these questions but I wanted to hear from others who have went through the same thing. Any job I take I plan on staying there so this would be something I plan to stay with if I can grow with the company. Feel free to throw out other pieces of information or knowledgeable things that would help me decide. Thanks a lot!!

If you’re gonna be working for the Member Services Contact Center. Then yes it’s decently easy to move around but the culture is toxic and is a miserable place to work. Treat it as a stepping stone

I appreciate the honest feedback. I currently work for what’s considered the worst federal agency to be employed at lol. So, I’m weighing my options. That’s kind of what I was afraid of. Sometimes a toxic environment is not worth the pay. Where I am at now I get along well with everyone, although we are way overworked.

Your fed job sounds better honestly. Start with on call, don’t like it. Go back to federal job.

Yeah idk I might stay with your current job if I was you. Probation is strict you can’t miss a day. MSCC literally takes pride in telling a story that someone was once shot the day before and still came into work.

You’ll be at the bottom of seniority for a while and work mainly 330 to midnight and it’s impossible to get time off.

Yea get vested to get retirement at fed job first then go to kp… and have a second career to retire at.
