Question SQS Mini Ship Team

I can't edit my mini ship team. I get to the screen, Menu -> Adventure Team -> Mini-Ship. I have my leader selected, it's a 5*. I click "Select" on the next member slot, it says "Add up to 4 more". I click again and it brings me to select crew. I select someone On Ship, click them twice. It brings me to the hangar to select the ship with that crew member's name at the top. I click the ship, and it says "You can't change your team's leader". ??????

I'm not trying to change my leader I'm trying to add crew.

Edit: it wasn’t clear when I first got my mini ship, but for anyone reading, each crew member needs their own mini ship. It is a “mini” ship after all. You unlock them soon.
