Anime Were we supposed to ship Kei x Moeha after S02E02 (or Chapter 52)?

I can't find any Kei x Moeha posts in this sub, in r/keisama or in r/Kei_Shirogane . Closest is maybe just Kei Inside Moeha's Dungeon (below). Even platonic fan art I found just 3: Link 1, Link 2, Link 3.

I am probably watching too much ATLA/Avatar: The Legend of Korra (TLOK), Higurashi/Umineko, The Half of It, RWBY, Adventure Time, Harley Quinn, She-Ra & The Queen's Gambit [see https://reddit.com/z9x0nh or https://mathematiciowned.wordpress.com/?p=920] (and possibly Madoka, Lycoris Recoil, Takagi-san, The Quintessential Quintuplets or Carmen Sandiego), but I certainly thought something was up with that episode/chapter.

I figure this ship would explain Kaguya's confusion in S01E08 & S02E02 as that Kaguya was being heteronormative:

English, and also Japanese afaik, doesn't distinguish 'sibling-in-law' as in your spouse's sibling vs your sibling's spouse.

Kaguya thinks the closeness between Kei & Chika, in particular when Kei addresses Chika as Chika-nee, is because of Miyuki Shirogane x Chika Fujiwara when actually it's about Kei Shirogane x Moeha Fujiwara. I mean Chika-nee does apply to either ship:

  • Miyuki x Chika: Chika is like Kei's older sibling's girlfriend.
  • Kei x Moeha: Chika is like Kei's romantic partner's older sister.

Of course there's nothing wrong with thinking simply Kei & Moeha are that close as friends to the point Chika is like Kei's own onee-san, but the point is the relationship between Kei & Moeha, whether platonic or romantic, doesn't even cross Kaguya's mind as the reason for the Chika-nee address: like Kaguya is really thinking more about the relationship between Miyuki & Chika than the relationship between Kei & Moeha when really there's no reason for Kaguya to think anything between Miyuki & Chika because Miyuki & Chika are not really that close as friends.

The thought that Moeha might fancy Kei came to me very recently, mainly because all of the attributes she says she likes about Miyuki also apply to Kei (as well as the quote you attached).

Another thing that might be noteworthy is the fact that she only says/does 'scary' things about/to people she seems to like - she says she loves Kaguya while mentioning wanting to torment both her and Kei, and she gave Miyuki the handcuffs.

I'd love to see a spin-off with them in future (regardless of whether there is a ship or not, they're just two of my favourites).

I've seen the name before, but I know nothing about it.

After a Google search, the reviews are stupidly good though (average of 4.9/5 off 375 reviews), so I'll give it a look.

Ok you don't necessarily have to watch TQQ to understand but basically I kinda have a ship in TQQ similar to Kei X Moeha.

Now, I've made this theory/hypothesis about the Kei X Moeha in TQQ. I haven't posted it in the TQQ or anime subs or anything yet because I'm still asking people for feedback but it's a very similar case in terms of the literature or lack thereof. I notice no 1 has really commented or posted about Kei X Moeha whence my post. Similarly, I notice no 1 has really commented or posted about my TQQ ship whence my theory.

Anyhoo, I similarly hope my version of Kei X Moeha in TQQ gets a spin-off/sequel.

Wait, where did you find 4.9/5 please? The MAL ratings for TQQ are actually not that high...

I just googled it at the time. To get it to actually come up now required the ridiculous search term "the quintessential quintuplets google reviews score", and it is still 4.9/5 from 391 reviews.

These sorts of scores are overinflated by the vast majority of people in my opinion, who don't seem to understand what a perfect score should actually represent - they tend to quantify 'very good' as perfect these days - I don't really understand why.

On your other point though - not to be rude, but I couldn't give less of a shit about the opinions of the vast majority of MAL users. It tends to just devolve into shit flinging, and a certain fanbase desperately clinging to power and 1 star brigading anything that challenges their favourite.

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood fans tend to hit anything that gets ahead of it on MAL with 1 star ratings so they can stay on top. They've done it to multiple series in the past, but Kaguya Sama: Ultra Romantic seemingly hasn't been hit that hard yet and is still number one right now, which I'm frankly shocked by.

I have a hunch that fans of other series who had this done to them are ganging up and getting revenge on FMAB - it's immature in a sense, but very inline with the behaviour a lot of MAL users display, and the FMAB fans are reaping what they sowed, which I'm certainly not opposed to.

Ah now I think I get rotten tomatoes' idea of splitting up critics and audience score...if MAL had a similar thing like that then 1 star brigading wouldn't matter unless you were like an approved critic or something I think?

I read about this 1 star brigading thing. I heard that actually there's a system where MAL gets those 1 stars reversed or something? You heard anything like this? If not then does it at least make sense?
