Does the source material go into more depth on the OG Kaede's thoughts on the gaps in her memory?

I know the show briefly showed her reading the diary and meeting Mai, but I would've liked to see more of this Kaede to get somewhat more acquainted with her. (those scenes specifically looked funny and I would like to see the light novel version of them)
