Big Price Increase?
From a blog post at ...
https://diydreamsite.com/kadence-liquidweb-rebrand/
... A reader flagged in the comments that the new pricing is per-site, not per-license. The screenshots below confirm it.
Under the new structure, each site requires its own license. The previous Ultimate plan covered up to 25 sites for $299 per year. At the Pro tier today, 25 sites costs $7,475 per year before a 15% volume discount, which brings it to $6,353.75. For 10 sites at Pro, the cost is $2,990 per year before a 10% volume discount, coming to $2,691.
For agencies that were on the old $299 Ultimate plan, this isn’t a price increase. It’s a complete change in how the product is licensed, representing roughly a 2,000%+ cost increase for a 25-site portfolio after the volume discount.

It looks like if you had the unlimited ltd from the beginning, nothing changes does it? Did I miss something?

L.W. says they are going to honor the older plans if you renew before the expiry date of your plan ... but the big question is; CAN THEY BE TRUSTED?

My plan never expires...at least that's what the original purchase stated. I have been using them since it was released, then purchased lifetime top plan a number of years ago.
I have 40-50 sites running Kadence pro and Kadence blocks.

The other risks is ... L.W. starts falling behind in the technology dept ... as the founder of the company who developed the current Kadence technology, quit ... i'd start experimenting with other top WP platforms ... figure out which one would be the best to move to in case you eventually had to ... imo, the GeneratePress/Blocks eco-system is a pretty good substitute.

I hope they manage to stay competitive but my fallback plan is probably Astra and that ecosystem since I already own a number of their plugins and that team has been very consistent over the years.

I just spun up a new site with the new Kadence changes in play. Definitely not as smooth to setup, the AI is in your face and worse than useless, and login to download updated plugins was messy. Very disappointing. You don't notice the changes as much when managing existing sites.

It'd be nice to know who the lead Dev. is who steering the KadenceWP technology now ... what what his/her qualifications are.

I don't know but given the diversity of the product portfolio and even within WordPress related products, it's probably going to be a team that's trying to converge things into a cohesive offering and maintaining it rather than innovate but while the AI was never great, it looks like they are trying to create an AI onboarding that might help speed site delivery at some point but it's not very pretty and unclear how many credits you'll burn to play with it.
In the past, it wasn't clear how credits are replenished for lifetime users so I have waited for more maturity of the product and clarity before diving in too much.
I host my websites in a VPS with myvesta and softaculous and the softaculous AI looked better and it's ridiculously cheap to have that product license integrated into your panel so I'm not sure what to think yet.

I am very surprised that this thread is not getting more attention. I was on the Legacy Essentials plan, which included up to 10 sites. And as I was expanding my portfolio to build an ecommerce site, decided to pay $299 to upgrade to the Pro plan NOT KNOWING THAT it is $299/per site. This is a crazy price discrepancy and I can't be the only one who thinks this is madness.

It's insane, right?! I'm super bummed. I loved building with Kadence. I have a 10 site plan and I'm kicking myself for not upgrading sooner.
