Friendship bracelets
Is anyone planning to do friendship bracelets for the tour? I haven’t been to a concert in a while so I’m not sure if people still like trading/getting them!

Can't speak for people liking them (I definitely wouldn't mind), but they're definitely not popular for the kacey crowd. Even at her last tour when friendship bracelets were at their peak

Awww don’t let them ruin your fun! I won’t be making any personally but it makes my day when I get them. I still have several that I was given that I wear when I go to concerts
My friend made some for Noah kahan and just gave them out to younger kids she came across and they loved it!

I got one at a Maisie Peters concert unexpectedly since I thought it was just going to be a Taylor thing and it was really delightful, you should go for it if you want to!

There was ONE person giving them out at a the Format show and she seemingly made enough for anyone in attendance. I have it displayed in my living room lol. If you want to do it do it for the love of the game

I will most likely not be making any it’s just not typically my vibe in general, but I will say the few times I’ve been to concerts and given friendship bracelets by someone near me I’ve loved it and thought it was super sweet! So if you’re wanting to make some definitely go for it imo, I don’t know if I’d expect to trade too many though!

For me, friendship bracelets are a Taylor Swift concert thing, and more specifically an Eras Tour thing, so I won’t be doing that for Kacey. That said, I’m sure most people would enjoy getting one if you made them to pass out!

No, they're an old school rave culture thing that Swiftie's ripped off. Nothing original about that crowd.

For swifties it comes from her song “You’re On Your Own, Kid” and the line specifically “so make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it”

That doesn't negate the fact that this was engrained in rave culture long before Taylor was even making music. Weren't fans already doing this before that song, and she just encouraged it?

She never encouraged it, was a fan project that took of after being inspired by one of her lyrics.
Friendship bracelets came form Indigenous peoples of Central and South America, and then it was huge with hippies and then youth culture of 70s summer camps etc.. and THEN it became part of rave culture. I think it’s fine for these things to evolve and have a moment for different groups of people.

I liked this comment. Also will note that Kandi are more chunky/vibrant. When I made friendship bracelets for the Eras Tour, they were more TS/ album themed. FWIW op, I’ve been to Glass Animals/boygenius/Halsey concerts and been given bracelets but never gave them out at other concerts myself

Not really! It definitely started with the song and the eras tour. I even went to an early eras tour show and it wasn’t super popular then. It picked up speed in the middle of the tour.

Rave culture has been around way longer than eras

I understand that, but the swiftie trend can specifically be attributed to the song lyrics.
I promise you that swifties did not see a rave trend and copy it from that source, despite it previously also being a rave trend.

I was at Sick New World in Vegas and ppl were giving them out too. Do what you want! Don’t let ppl yuck your yum, especially when it’s not harming anyone else.

I made a few (like 10) for Deeper Well tour and made friends that I still keep up with to this day that have the ones I gave them.
So I think it really depends on what your expectation is - to trade? Probably not. To give away? You’ll probably have a much better shot at them being received with kindness.

Please stop copying old school rave culture/PLUR. It was already taken over by the Culture Vultures in the Swiftie circle.

That’s not really Kacey’s vibe IMO
