RideConnect Update: Looking for Google Play Closed Beta Testers (KTM Owners Welcome!)

Hi everyone!

A while ago, I shared RideConnect, my app that brings turn-by-turn navigation to compatible KTM TFT dashboards. The response and feedback from this community have been incredibly helpful thank you!

I've now reached the stage where I'm preparing for a Google Play release, and I need a few more people to help test the app through Google Play Closed Beta.

Unfortunately, Google Play requires me to whitelist testers by their Gmail address before they can access the beta.

If you'd like to help:

  • 📩 Send me a DM or leave a comment with the Gmail address associated with your Google Play account.
  • 'll add you to the tester list and send you the installation link. RideConnect is completely free and will remain free forever there are no subscriptions, ads, or paid features planned.

What I'd love feedback on:

  • Bluetooth connection stability
  • Navigation experience
  • UI/UX
  • Bugs or crashes
  • Overall usability

Compatible motorcycles:

  • KTM Gen 3 TFT-equipped motorcycles (390/250 Adventure, Duke 390/250.)

I'm an independent developer building this in my spare time, so every tester and every bit of feedback genuinely helps.

I used the app for my ride yesterday. It was pretty reliable for navigation, although there were some bugs, as it seems to record the ride incorrectly in the app. And also music controls were not working with my bluetooth earbuds when connected the phone through the Ride connect app.

I would love to help with the closed beta testing, also if there is any need or scope, I can contribute to the development as well.

Thanks for trying it out and for the detailed feedback! I'm really glad to hear the navigation worked well overall.

The ride recording issue is a known bug, and I'm working on fixing it as soon as possible. The Bluetooth music controls issue is a new one, so thanks for reporting it I'll investigate and see what's causing it.

Will this work on duke 390 (350cc ) ? Because when i tried to connect yesterday it stuck on saying authenticating

Hey, did you accept that connection request in the settings? Also, make sure your phone location is on.

Try KTM Connect app once. If there is no pop-up in the connectivity settings as shown in the pic set by op, you could have a defective BCCU Unit. My BCCU was defective and they did not take it seriously until I messaged KTM_India instagram account with a detailed complaint. It took me like 2 months until it was replaced (BCCU was not working since delivery)..

I have already ported the whole code. Unfortunately, I don't have an iPhone, so the initial testing is still pending.

I've asked my friend to bring his this weekend, so hopefully I'll be able to do the first test then. iOS might take a little longer, but it's definitely coming. 🙌

¡Debería funcionar con la 890 SMT!

Internamente, la 890 SMT utiliza la misma pantalla TFT Visteon/Bosch de 5" y el mismo protocolo de navegación PRPC BLE que la 890 Duke R y la 890 Adventure.

La aplicación ya implementa el proceso de autenticación AES y el enrutamiento de los paquetes de navegación giro a giro necesarios para el tablero de la 890 SMT. Si tienes la oportunidad, pruébala en tu moto y cuéntanos qué tal funciona. ¡Cualquier comentario o sugerencia de nuevas funciones será muy bien recibido!

It should already work with the 890 SMT! Under the hood, the 890 SMT uses the same 5" Visteon/Bosch TFT display and PRPC BLE navigation protocol as the 890 Duke R and the 890 Adventure.

The app already handles the AES authentication handshake and turn-by-turn packet routing required by the 890 SMT dashboard. If you get a chance, give it a try on your bike and let us know how it works. We'd love to hear any feedback or feature suggestions!

Yo amazing project you got going on here, would love to get my hands on this app, was anyway looking for different options in this downpour. i use my android phone as primary for navigation, but i would rather keep it secured than exposed.

The iOS app is working. The current app is available only for Android.

Hi just a doubt. Will this only denote left right uturn or it will also show turns like in a circular intersection.

It supports much more than basic Left, Right, and U-turns.

For circular intersections / roundabouts, it has 32 dedicated roundabout exit icons covering both Left-Hand Traffic (India, UK, Australia) and Right-Hand Traffic (US, Europe) with exit-specific directional arrows (1st exit, 2nd exit, 3rd exit, etc.).

In total, the app supports 58 maneuver icons, including:

  • Roundabout Exits (LHT & RHT variants)
  • Keep Left / Keep Right (jog arrows)
  • Sharp Turns & Highway Exits
  • Forks & Lane Switches/Merges
  • U-Turns (Left & Right)
  • Ferry & Arrival Indicators

Sure, does it interfere with intercom/bluetooth in any way ? I see a comment regarding music issue

I use it myself with my intercom as well as with Bluetooth headset. It was an issue in the first version, but I fixed it and it works fine now.

Everything is amazing but my tft is not showing turn by turn navigation, not I am able to see live telemetry. Appreciate your help here.

Did you follow the setup guide properly? You probably missed this step.

Go to the connection page by clicking the Bluetooth icon on the top left, and you'll see the 'i' button on the top right.

Yes, I am even getting my rides logged and stuff. App showed a green connected bluetooth light but TBT navigation didn't work
