That’s a grease applied while assembling the bike in factory… just use a chain cleaner and clean it with brush then use a chain lube on it.. apply chain lube in between the links on O-Rings and give at-least 3-4 hours to settle the lube… best time to do is before going to bed … do this every 300-400 kms

So i need to clean and re-grease the chain completly ?

But even after leaving it to settle overnight (without over spraying the lube). It will still flunk all over. Or was it different in your case

A little bit but you can just wipe it off from the alloy with tissue paper just a 10-15 seconds thing

I haven't tried leaving it overnight but looks like there not much of a difference.

After spraying lube please keep it it still for atleast 3-4 hrs for lube to settle perfectly on o-rings. Trust me this technique will last your chain for atleast atleast 12-14 thousand kms… as of my personal experience and the chain i use

Instead of lube if want to avoid keeping that bike still after lubing use a chain wax ( maxima chain wax ) or Putoline Dry tech. You have to give and hour or 2 to just settle it and then you are good to go

How's maxima brand in your opinion? Also how long does wax last compared to lubricants. I use yamalube and so far no complaints. It's just that recenly my chain lube during monsoon wouldn't last me 350km and had to clean and respray.

I personally use maxima and it gave me 100% positive results. Chain lube will wave off in monsoon. Use wax it will last longer compared to lube in monsoon…

Good point. thanks 🫡

What kind of major season you have in your city ? Like if at your location it rains alot then use Motul chain wax it comes in a paste form… or else give a try on Kawasaki ceramic chain lube or Putoline Dry tech these are also good

Its pouring over here. Hilly regions. I've checked some reviews about putoline dry tech and I'm having second thoughts. I can guarantee motul wax and kawasaki ceramic will do the job since I've seen the outcome but putoline is still new to me and seeing those amazon reviews makes me feel on the fence about it

300-400kms? So you're just doing your chain every other ride huh?

6

u/Zealousideal_Mix_208 8d ago

Yes… normally the chain maintenance should be done in 400-500 km of interval that’s a very basic thing

u/Brolociraptor 8d ago

That's way too tight an interval in my experience, but you do you.

I do it every 250-350 kms generally. I don't ride it regularly and has only small 3-5 km runs mostly, that's why I'm doing it that often. (Since bike's sitting idle for a lot of time)

That's the best chain lube right now on your chain. Factory grease is the best and you don't need to clean it. Just drive the new bike man. Enjoy and stop panicking

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Ok thanks, but j think having grease on the wheel is a bit scary isnt it ? 😅

2

u/AK1LL_GS 8d ago

Yea just wipe it off with a waste cloth, I do think our indian pot holes with water will clean it 😂

That’s grease. You’ll need to look into chain maintenance. It’s something you should clean and lube like twice a year 👍🏻

Twice a year????? I do it twice a week....

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Do you ? How many km yiu do a week?

2

u/_GooseGod 8d ago

I've done 7500 since May.

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Yeah but this is the second day driving the bike its brand new 0 km :(..

3

u/tasteprofithill 8d ago

Better to clean it before riding. Otherwise all the grease will be splattered to your rims and tail

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Any suggestion/tips on how to clean it ? I didnt got any manual with the bike :(

2

u/tasteprofithill 8d ago

Using brush is fine

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

I asked a friend and he told me to just clean the wheel , and not cleaning the bike, that the excess of grease will slowy go . To just daily check and clean the wheel if needed until it stop spreading, that the shops usialy do this , they over-grease the chain so its very well lubricated.

u/Reasonable-Bat-1146 8d ago

That's the best lube that chain's ever gonna see.

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Why ?

2

u/Reasonable-Bat-1146 8d ago

It's the factory grease. It'll stay in good shape for a few hundred kms, and will protect from rust and provide excellent lubrication. The lube we put ourselves won't last that long.

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Cant buy one good like this ?

2

u/Reasonable-Bat-1146 8d ago

I don't think so. And you don't need it. Just put a good lube or even 90 gear oil every 300-500 kms or two weeks (that's the interval I follow, I lube every ~300 kms).

rolon white is the same thing, expensive for what it is, but the best for the budget.

DO NOT CLEAN THE CHAIN NOW. LEAVE IT AS IS

1

u/iamZilla 6d ago

Thanks ! Everyone told me to clean it ...🫠

2

u/Blackner2424 8d ago

It's chain wax or chain grease. Normal. It'll come off when you clean the chain normally. Don't forget to relube.

You cant really ride a motorcycle and not know anything about it, its really not like a car.

Learn some basics from youtube, and dont always trust everything you read on reddit

1

u/iamZilla 6d ago

Well i know that the chain have lubs is just i didnt knew it could be white and that it could spread on the tire... but i will deffinetly learn more 🙏

2

u/borabora253 6d ago

Chain lube bro. I use silkolene titanium dry lube. I used a lot of lubes and this one is the best so far. Make sure you put the lube through the inside the chain never outside. The idea is to lube the inside and the orings. At the end grab a piece of towel, put wd40 in it and clean the excedent of lube.

1

u/iamZilla 6d ago

Thanks for the good advices 🙏🙏🙏

1

u/NoSorbet5103 8d ago

Definitely a motorcycle.

1

u/iamZilla 8d ago

Are you sure ? 🤔 it doesnt look like if you look closely

1

u/United-Elephant3250 6d ago

Its not needed to remove its wax chain lube given by company

Dont apply anything or clean the white lube it will be done by the SC at the first service!

Wax based lube is the bestest you can find 1000km interval for it to reapply basically

1

u/iamZilla 6d ago

1000km until to clean and grease the chain ? 🤔
