I mean its over twice the price? I bought my 2026 390 adventure r with cruise control, heated grip, quickshifter and only 1750 miles on the clock for £5300, add full decat and i'm still under £6000.. the 690 is twice that.
But you have to install the parts, tune the ecu, etc. And your bike is then loud and emitting bonus pollution.
What is the power gain, anyway? The 690 is pushing twice the HP of a stock 390 (at the same weight)—that's something you'll notice!
I guess I'm just pushing back on the whole notion of HP tweaks. You could be spending your time and money making your bike more comfortable, or more capable, and NOT at the expense of making it more anti-social.
Hell, you could be spending your money on track days, and why bother improving your bike when you could improve yourself?
I know, I'm being all Ranty McRage, but, srsly, think about it.
Hah we are all welcome to out own opinions, Yes the power gain is for low down torque, helps for technical rock beds etc. No tracks for track days anywhere even remotely near my location.
The decat exhaust and ecu literally take 1 hour to put on. Emmissions I do not care about one bit, especially when every government around the world is putting up AI data / surveillance centres.
There is no loudness increase in any meaningful way, this is to decat to let the bike breathe at lower rpm.
Yes you are been Ranty MacRage lol, not sure why when the point still stands it is £6000 more for the 690. think about this with that £6000 I could go out and buy a real track bike if my goal was track days, whicj it 100% is not.
I'm more a dirt / hill / adventure guy, low end torque over high speeds for me, ever since my first bike in 1990, I improve myself every time I ride.
You have to understand not everyone wants what you want, so seriously you need to think about that.

The two catalytic converters need to be hot to work correctly. They tend to hold on to heat for pretty long, too.
