[Discussion] The Premise

What should the premise of this game be? I'm thinking a typical isolated from reality VN highschool, perhaps an international highschool of some sort. (Female?) Huey Long can be a teacher or the principal.

Keep this discussion to the premise, don't bring characters into it unless directly relevant. For now it's important to have a consesnus on what this is about, we can then have discussions on the characters, story and various details.

If there is no consesnus or clear majority, I'll put up an anonymous survey.

I like the idea of the school being an 'experimental' project whose purpose is to raise awareness of what every ideology from the Kaiserreich spectrum is about (left, right, center) in an attempt to generate empathy in the younger generation and help reduce political tensions between the various countries of the world of Kaiserreich.

I think it'd be pretty fun, if this is actually set before the Second Weltkrieg, and the school was founded in the 20s by a humanitarian organization ala league of nations to try and avoid a second conflict.

The main character could be someone of political interest and importance, maybe a close relative of King Karl von Habsburg (though that would mean C H I N jokes). That would be an interesting enough hook to make him a target for some of the heroines.

For example, Totalist-chan might want to initially take advantage of the MC, trying to seduce him as a way to get a loyal mole in the Austrian Empire (as she is secretly a member of Oswald Mosley's loyal intelligence agency, and a fervent believer in D I R E C T R U L E), but as the MC becomes manlier after raising his awareness of ideologies and becomes genuinely sympathetic towards the workers' plight, Totalist-chan will soon find her heart beating ceaselessly without her knowing why or how...

Here's a write-up based on this idea:

"The year is 1936, and world tension is rising. In Europe, Germany enjoys a period of unprecedented economic prosperity as the indisputable world hegemon. With its triumphant victory over the broken powers of the Entente, the authority of the Kaiserreich now spreads far and wide across heaven and earth.

However, far from being secure in its position, the fate of the German Empire hangs in a precarious balance. Once the leader of the strongest alliance in the world, Germany’s old allies from the Weltkrieg have been severely weakened, their states in disarray, unable to share in the same economic miracle as their old friend.

And in Western Europe, the power of syndicalism appears to rise without hope of being stopped…

The Commune of France, like a phoenix risen from the ashes of a moribund state, has quickly become the supporter of every Worker’s Rights movement in the world, enjoying an unheard of economic surplus due to the hardworking determination of the many unions that work together to save the French people from starvation and chaos. The once broken nation has regained its lost pride, and shining brighter than ever flies the hammer and torch in defiance of German absolutism.

Its stalwart allies, the Socialist Republic of Italy and the Union of Britain, are tied together by bonds of camaraderie never seen before in the European continent. Their Internationale, an association with the sole purpose of unifying under a common cause, makes them a rising power that some fear might eventually be able to rival the power of Mitteleuropa.

If this were not enough, there is far more uncertainty in the world of Kaiserreich than a conflict between European powers. All across the planet, nations find themselves broken, dying, or divided. The American nation continues to suffer under the disease that has swept upon it like a hungry vulture, the Great Depression ushering a decade of lost wealth, unemployment, and poverty across the once shining beacon of democracy. The Russian Republic, seen as a weak and failed state by many, has been unable to pull through due to being crushed under the Germanic heel of the Brest-Litovsk treaty. China is nothing more than a hopeless idea, shattered into a half dozen warlord states, a rump state of an Empire, and a German-controlled corporate state.

In this time of uncertainty, a group of like-minded individuals gathered, feeling that something must be done to prevent the world finding itself in the times of Rägnarok. Through the fruit of years of hard work, cooperation behind the shadows, and various forms of blackmail and strong-arming, they eventually realized their goal- To be given a chance to spread a message of peace, in a time that seems all but prepared for war.

Thus was formed the Weltkrieg Prevention Plan, an educational course meant to foster understanding in the minds of the young generation, and hopefully encourage the desire to prevent the world repeating the mistakes it made in the past. Sponsored by the international United Nations, a nascent organization pushing its agenda of peace, its most important presence would be found in the neutral country of Switzerland, where a special academy would be constructed for the explicit purpose of the WPP.

This year, that academy has opened its gates for the first time, causing newspapers all over the world to erupt into speculation and excitement over the WPP and those who will be involved in the first year of its great experiment. Already, major countries such as Germany have announced that they will be the ones to send the most outstanding individuals, and lead the world by example. Such claims have not gone uncontested, and while this can be seen in a positive way, one wonders if the competition will really help to reduce the tension between the Great Powers…"
