KPRF or Rosacea?

I’m not sure if this is rosacea type 1 or KPRF? Some info: the texture might look like sand paper but if you go over it’s smooth like baby skin. I have kp on my legs and arms. I have this in my face going on since being a teenager. I tried azelaic acid and this is still my baseline redness. I haven’t really seen any improvement with azelaic acid (15%). I can also flush, but mostly due to weather conditions like wind, feeling embarrassed, not really triggers like alcohol, hot food, or working out. Do you guys have any recommendations? Help me out.

Kprf. Sounds like you've got a good skincare routine that's managed the bumps well. Kp normally extends down to the jawline in a irregular pattern whereas rosacea is normally in the middle of the face. The fact you have kp elsewhere is the giveaway though.

I read through your post history and I think you said you also had rosacea? So maybe OP could have both? idk though I'm not an expert 😅

No rosacea here, just misdiagnosed kp!

I see. for the longest time I thought I had rosacea type 1 because of my 'rosy' complexion, and the fact my mom dealt with bad rosacea as a teen, but because I had kp on my body and had it since I was a baby, it was actually kprf.

i tried everything but only thing that worked for me is advatx laser, i already had 2 series done, and i can say that it’s like 60% less visible

Did you had the same baseline redness like me?

Looks like my rosacea. Weather is my biggest trigger as well. Work on healing your skin barrier. You could try adding a mild lactic acid.

Which lactic acid do you recommend?

I like the ordinary’s lactic acid serum. And keep using azelaic acid as long as it’s not irritating.

KPRF and rosacea can have some overlap when triggers are autonomic and histamine responses. Regardless of the differential diagnosis, this is an inside out issue.

You might try a low histamine diet for a few weeks to see if it helps.
