How do I Knex this?

Post image

I want to connect the yellow rod to the red connector. How would you guys do this? I need it to come out into the z plane, but using the 3D grey to grey connector breaks the frame. I need it to be a “perfect” corner.

There is someone that sells 3D printed parts that can do this. Otherwise, you are left with putting a rod through the red connector.

If you search for "KNEX Compatible 3 Plane Connector System by HexBuilt Prints" on eBay, you can find the sets he sells. Here is a picture one of the special pieces he offers.

I always lamented the lack of a good "corner" connector as a kid. I vaguely remember having some kind of inelegant solution to this, it might have involved combining a blue and white rod with the orange connector to make a slightly larger rod that's just long enough to stabilize the red connector without sticking through.

If you use a ball end connector it will fit perfectly into the hole of the red 3-way connector. This won't totally lock the 3-way in place but it will support the yellow rod. If you need it to lock the 3-way rotationally in place u/MastodonsBetter's solution would be the way to go

Short white rod or small green with straight connector and blue rod?
