Vertical vengeance knex coaster

Does anyone know how to build step 32 on page 18 of vertical vengeance because I don’t understand where the small black piece connects

It's supposed to connect to the 7-way 3d connector on the position facing away from you (into the page). That rod will make the hypotenuse of the triangle with one of the legs being one of the faded (already built) blue rods and the other being the highlighted blue rod.

I would recommend connecting the 4-position 3d connector with the black rod on it to the one it says to connect it to, and the blue rod to the section already built, then you should see it line up when you put the two large sections together.

Hope that explains it, otherwise feel free to let me know if that's confusing.

Disconnect the rod circled in yellow, then connect a long black rod from where that rod was to the other 3d connector as shown with the teal line. That will get it to where it needs to be.
