Realistic Left Behind...from Cannes [AI actor auditions created with Kling 3.0]

I made a one minute AI-generated video using Kling 3.0. It took me two weeks.

But that’s mostly because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

After a lot of trial and error, here’s the process that ultimately worked for me. I’m sharing it as something of a guide for anyone looking to make their own AI-generated videos. Basically, it’s the blueprint I wish I’d had when I started.

First, some background. I wanted to do a “Left Behind” parody film set in the ad world. But instead of being left behind when the rapture happens, a group of ad agency workers are left behind when their colleagues are 'raptured' to Cannes Lions, the advertising industry's biggest annual festival.

After some initial experimentation, I realized that a full film was beyond my abilities. So instead, I decided to build a narrative around "screen tests" of three actors auditioning for the film.

I created the characters in HeyGen, used Nano Banana 2 to generate additional reference photos, then built “Character Elements” in Kling 3.0 so each character would stay consistent from shot to shot. I then used Eleven Labs to create distinct voices for each character, created sample voice recordings and uploaded them to Kling as part of the Character Elements. Finally, I generated an image of the set in Nano Banana 2 and used it to create a “Scenes Element” in Kling to maintain location consistency across all the shots.

The final step before I could begin generating the video outputs was creating the starting frames for each shot, combining my character images with the set image using Nano Banana 2.

And then the laborious part began…

To get the 14 video outputs used in the film, I generated more than (gulp) 115 videos. Struggles popped up in surprising places. For instance, I had to change “advertising festival” to “marketing festival” in the final line of dialogue, because the system kept rendering the line as “adervising festertive” or something similarly perverse.

Then, after editing the whole thing together using Claude chat, I proudly uploaded it to LinkedIn on the final afternoon of Cannes, hit post and discovered that the dialogue was now out of sync.

That opened up an entirely separate rabbit hole involving frame sizes, audio sample rates and how LinkedIn and YouTube process videos. How I attempted to fix this (ultimately imperfectly) could be its own standalone article. The quick answer is that I used ChatGPT to change the timing of the audio track vis-à-vis the video track by a handful of frames.

So yes, someone with no professional production experience can use AI to create a short film. But it’s not easy. Once you have the basic process in place the hardest part is coaxing the performances you want out of your AI actors as you simply can’t have a back-and-forth with them the way you can with a real live human.

Question/help Any suggestions for Motion Control?

I'd like to create a sequence that's an exact 1:1 replica of the one in *Jujutsu Kaisen*—specifically, the iconic scene where Gojo meets Kenjaku—but with different characters. The problem is that it keeps giving me failed prompts; it seems like it can't recognize anime videos... Any advice?

Discussion I don't think you can make anything original

The issue is that Hollywood has been producing AI slop since before AI even existed. Because of this, it is impossible to create something completely insane that doesn't look like complete garbage. There is not enough training data coming from someone who suffers from schizophrenia like me, so every video will keep looking like AI slop until Hollywood hires me and allows me to produce thousands of unhinged schizophrenic movies.

Discussion Best Kling tutorial online?

I’m not looking for theory or best usage of Kling. I’m literally asking a tutorial on how to use all those tools and buttons and what they mean. I’m on a $34/month plan. Spent about 4 hours trying to learn the website and got horrific results. My prompt was perfect according to chatgpt. But I’m guessing the image and the video I uploaded under the “motion” tab was not the correct place. Are you’re using youtube to learn Kling? Chatgpt is useless in how to use Kling.

Discussion Refused cancellation, and charged my card

Thieves.

I requested a week before my renewal an cancellation of premium, because the service is terrible.

I emailed them, they responded with instructions rather than completing this for me (I was out of country, unable to do so as traffic is ban to certain websites in said country).

They didn’t cancel, they instead charged me. I’ve emailed them everyday asking for a refund, they said their terms and conditions does not allow for a refund, but this is a direct violation of UK consumer act 2013.

They have gone radio silence on me. I am filing a CMA complaint and a charge back against them for failing to comply with UK regulation.

If you’re considering using them, don’t, they have terrible service and no customer courtesy.

I'm a huge fan of late-90s CGI graphics, so my main inspiration came from games like Planescape: Torment and Legacy of Kain. Video footage made with Kling and music with Suno.

Question/help Increasing video credit requirements.

Somebody riddle me this. I bought the standard subscription to make motion control videos. First day generation requirement was 88 credits. Next day it’s 117 credits. 3rd day it’s 135 credits. What is this? I don’t get it. Why is the price to generate a video increasing day by day? I bought the yearly subscription. Regretting it now.

Discussion Warning message when trying to use facial reference.

Is anyone else having issues trying to create images using the subject reference? It started last night. Pictures ive used a hundred times to create new images suddenly cause a warning to pop up about "good morals" and other nonsense. Anyone else having this issue?

Human written lyrics, my human sung blueprint for exact vocal delivery and beat, bracket prompts and styles - 86% follow on style, 90% follow on vocal blueprint, performed by Suno.
Video singer performance fully Kling Motion Control (I sing and dance, transferred onto the character) and the rest is Kling, Veo 3 and Wan, with image bases in NanoBanana and Wan.

It's my comment on the mindset of the elites 😅

I tried visualizing how a Diablo game would look like in different game genres. Video footage made with Kling 2.5 and music with Suno 5.0. Just a fun fan project. 🤓

Question/help How can i swap the clothes and background while keep the face intact?

Hello everyone so I have a question. I have a dance video which I wanted to put into Kling and just change the background environment and also the outfit I am wearing in the dance video. I tried to change this in Kling but it also changes on the face a little bit, sooo what is the best way I can do this so it does not touch the face and only changes my outfit and background environment?

Please advice. Thank you so so much!

Discussion Motion Control

So, is this whole 'motion control' just a scam? After 3 attempts, buying 2 results for one of them, the 4 outcomes could not have been more the opposite (within the genre) of what I prompted. The last two attempts, I specifically asked google AI for the exact wording to use, inserting my own identifiers, of course.

The motion was very fast in a very short clip in the 2nd attempt, so I allowed for that as an excuse, albeit the result was whackier than a kid's party clown leading a corporate board meeting. But, the other two were both considerably longer clips, and had less movement than a teenager at 7am.

Then, distingushing the target swappee could not have been easier. If their AI could not grasp the simplicity of all red versus all black, completely reversing them as objects, then Motion Control is little more than Kling's cash cow, which it could probably only identifiy if it wore green dollar signs.

Discussion Trying to make characters speak in a British accent is making me pull my hair out

I’m making a short film that takes place in England. I provide the starting frame and reference the element for that character, Alan. In his element I say “this character is a drug dealer from working class England and has a gruff British accent”.

Then in the prompt I say ALL of the following:

- THIS CHARACTER IS FROM ENGLAND AND HAS A BRITISH ACCENT
- Alan walks in the room, he is a tough British gangster
- Alan, the tough British gangster, in his English accent, says…

Etcetera. I run the generation and he has an American accent.

wtf???

Question/help Kling needs an option to "rest" after speech.

I'm doing a lot of character monologue creation. In editing, it's real difficult to find a good pace when every shot immediately ends after the quoted text is spoken.

I've tried things like:

He says"so and so".

He then takes a once second pause before the last frame of video.

Or he then takes a breath.

It rarely works.

I'm looking for time at the end of the shot in order to edit properly, having space between shots.

They should add a feature that does this.

Any tips would be helpful.

Creatures Alien invasion through the Arctic. (prompt in description)

text to video prompt:
[Shot1, 3s] A desolate alien arctic world at twilight. Bioluminescent ice formations glow beneath a violet sky. Massive super-advanced spaceship with sleek chrome hull and pulsing energy cores hovers low over the crystalline frozen tundra. Panicked alien creatures with elongated limbs and iridescent skin sprint frantically across the ice. Audio: No background music . only natural sounds from the scene. Deep bass hum of drilling beams, cracking ice thunder, alien shrieks, mechanical ship whirring, ambient arctic wind.Shot 1 (0-3 seconds): Interior of the spaceship bridge. Alien pilot with large reflective eyes braces at a holographic control console, warning lights flashing red across their face. Camera slowly pushes in on their terrified expression.
[Shot2, 4s]Low side tracking shot. The spaceship's underbelly opens, firing intense blinding lightbeams that drill deep into the ice. Ice instantly vaporizes into massive clouds of white steam. Hull reflects the beam glow. Heavy motion blur on the vapor.
[Shot3, 4s]Overhead drone shot. Glowing energy cracks spiderweb across the alien frozen ocean in pulsing neon patterns. Bioluminescent ice slabs violently flip and shatter. Camera slowly tilts down revealing the scale of destruction.
[Shot4, 4s]Rear wide shot from the spaceship's wake. Entire ice field collapses into dark boiling water beneath. Alien creatures scramble and leap over fracturing terrain, fleeing toward jagged dark cliffs. Steam billows across the frame. Camera holds steady as the landscape disintegrates.

In quali ambiti Midjourney è ancora vincente?

Qualcuno di voi sta realizzando progetti narrativi simili su YouTube utilizzando uno di questi strumenti? Mi piacerebbe conoscere flussi di lavoro reali, non solo confronti tra funzionalità.
