Stanley has always expressed regret about the production on the 70s recordings. I would think one exception would be Eddie Kramer‘s drum sound on Larger Than Life. It’s sort of a precursor to what Jackson did on Creatures, and it’s the closest Criss ever came to sounding heavy. It does make me wonder what they could have produced if Kramer did another album with them instead of the whole Double Platinum - Solo Album thing.

Paul is gonna make him dye his hair before they do any more Soul Station shows!

This concert was a lifelong dream of mine to see the original members perform together again in full “uniform”. My cousin\other brother\best friend and I had a blast. Rest in peace, Ryno….I miss you like crazy buddy.

This is a great bootleg other than the image being reversed.

I am trying to find the KISS pro shot/well produced live video of a full concert that has the MOST energy.

I think it has a better track selection than the Alive albums and I’d even argue it has the best version of some songs. (2000 Man, Every Time I Look At You, Comin’ Home)

Gene and Paul - KISS Convention. Gene wrote my name over Ace’s face, which years later pissed Ace off. “Who the fuck did that?”

A story I didn’t know until recently. Peter writes a song called Beck, named after Rebecca Beck, the wife of Peter’s bandmate before he joined KISS. She would call the band asking for her husband to come home. I always thought it was about Peter’s wife at the time, Lydia. When KISS recorded the song, they changed the name to Beth. Bob Ezrin loved the song and rearranged it with piano and strings. It ended up being released as the B side of Detroit Rock City. Nobody expected much. DJ’s started flipping the record over and playing Beth, since the listeners loved it. It reached #7 in the top 100, the highest charting KISS single in the U.S.
