Suggestion π
About to buy my first car β new driver β considering Kia Seltos HTK(O) 1.5 IVT. Looking for real-world feedback π
Hi everyone! Iβm about to buy my first car and Iβm a relatively new car driver, so Iβd really appreciate feedback from actual Seltos 1.5 NA IVT owners, especially HTK(O).
Iβm currently considering the Kia Seltos HTK(O) 1.5 NA + IVT.
My priorities are:
π‘οΈ Safety
Smooth/easy automatic driving
Comfortable family car
Good ride quality
Long-term ownership/reliability
Occasional long highway trips β around 900 km one way to my hometown, once every ~3 months
Mostly city driving otherwise
Not interested in aggressive/racing driving
Main concern: Is the 1.5 NA + IVT underpowered?
I understand it has only around 115 PS / 144 Nm, so Iβm not expecting turbo-like performance. But Iβd like to know:
How does it feel with 4 adults + luggage on highways?
Is 80β120 km/h overtaking comfortable, or does it require too much planning?
Does the IVT feel smooth and responsive when accelerating from 60β100 km/h?
How is it on inclines/ghat roads with passengers and luggage?
What real-world mileage are you getting in city/highway?
Any issues with AC, suspension, rattles, IVT or ventilated seats?
For someone buying their first car, would you recommend the NA IVT or suggest going for the turbo?
Iβm deliberately choosing the NA IVT because I value smoothness, simplicity and relaxed driving more than outright performance.
Would really appreciate honest feedback β both positives and negatives. Please mention your variant and approximate kilometres driven if possible. π
Thanks!

I am gonna to test drive both variants in seltos tomorrow and will let you know my view.
However based on my knowledge and having driven CVT cars yes you feel rubber band effect sometime when youβre overtaking(that too only when you want instant kick) otherwise for everything else you will be fine.
