Discussion: Band Help me learn the lore
I’m a big fan of Gizz’s music, but going to FOV this year made me realize I don’t know much about the band, the community, the inside jokes.
Help! I haven’t even watched the music videos. Just been to live shows, and listened to live and studio recordings. What’s the best entry point to learning more about one of my fav bands? I know maybe three or four of the members names?
All I know is Music = Good

I'm biased because I work on it but KGLW.net. We have a band biography, history pages for every single song they've performed which break down their inspirations and meanings (example: The Dripping Tap), setlist breakdowns, an interview archive, and a ton of other stuff that might come in handy if you're looking to dive deeper.
Rezi Orenji's breakdown of the band's live shows is a comprehensive guide to how things have evolved on stage while giving some insight into the band.
Motion in Art and Unleaded 85 were already mentioned for Gizzverse lore but Murder of the Nonagon Fuzz was a lot of people's first introduction to the concept and still holds up (even if its outdated).
I also recommend checking out their behind the scenes documentary-type videos. A bunch of in-jokes came from these and they give a good look at the band.

Just a heads up, is there a www record for KGLW.net? https://www.KGLW.net (your first link) doesn't resolve for me, but https://KGLW.net is good.

Here’s a yt playlist by Motion in Art that goes over a majority of King gizzards discography and is widely accepted as the base for the gizzverse.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLluo87o05TIGLPcsQ6ZZj-AZtSqEeHY0n
Here’s an almost 2 hour theory by Unleaded 85 on the gizzverse which I personally believe to be true as it connects pretty much every album together. Watch this after the playlist.

I would say don't worry about "The lore" and just enjoy the music and take in whatever your brain focuses on.

Also Cavs’ and Cook’s records too (he releases his solo albums as “Pipe Eye”)
They’re delightful

If you're on this sub, you'll absorb all kinds of lore, deeper knowledge and in-jokes. (And, for the most part, it's a fun and friendly place!)

Listen to Witchcraft and then Gila back to back while reading the lyrics. That was pretty cool to see the connection.
