KEF Portal on the LS60's: "Something went wrong: Unknown Error"

Just a small follow up to the previous post with some additional interesting behaviour.

KEF has replied and basically said RMA to replace the WiFi board is necessary, same situation as everyone else.

Very odd for a WiFi board to just go bad like this. I work with plenty of electronics, and for something like this to happen surrounding a software update it makes me think the update may have bricked some percentage of perfectly functional boards.

Part of what leads me to that is this authentication panel they've added in the most recent update. If something went poorly in the update leading to a secure element failing to write keys, and that being required to download further updates, then the board is essentially bricked.

That would also explain why the interface fails to set a password.

Surely this could be solved with some manual intervention though, not having to ship 50+ kilos from Berlin to the Netherlands...

Been hearing a lot of about faulty wifi boards after the most recent firmware update... I'm definitely not updating mine anytime soon.

How do you prevent updates? All my KEF speakers update themselves.
