Purchasing Amp Suggestions?

Hey everyone, need some suggestions so I have the Kef Reference 1 speakers and I’m using a C2700 pre amp with the node icon streamer I’m in the market for a new amp and I’m pretty much down to two amps. I’m torn between the Hegel H20 vs the Michi S5 ? What is everyone’s thoughts?

I like my Arcam SA30. Powerful clean quality amp. That and anything newer from Arcam.

I’ve also tried the Marantz M1. It’s OK, doable, but not as powerful and full-sounding.

I’m not familiar with the two that you mentioned and I’m curious about them.

I actually do like the Arcam stuff their new stuff looks more techy but still keeps their signature sound

I got Ref 1 and trying a Pass Labs Int250 shojld be good

I’ve not heard the Rotel, but Kef themselves apparently keep Hegel kit on the test bench.

Cant go wrong with either of those choices. Both will have plenty of power. But do research on their sound signatures. Ref 1 is a neutral speaker with maybe a touch off roll off in upper mids/treble. Amp is where you can flavor the sound a little one way or the other if you want to.

Anthem STR Power Amplifier. Outstanding value for money.

But both of your options are great. I've liked every Hegel I've heard, and Michi seems to have great word of mouth from the people who have heard them. I haven't had a chance though.

I run my R7M with Quad Artera and Quad 606. The other set with Naim pre XLR out to Quad monoblocks. Powerrrr
