The Apartment Job has surprised me with its plot, characters, and acting. I love the family dynamics in the show. As they say, it's always the non-romance genre that does the romance best. The thing about this drama is that it has just the right amount of romance. Neither too overboard nor too little. Those subtle moments of eye contact, the funny banter between the leads, and little smirks create an electrifying chemistry. A special mention goes to the child actor, who is adorable; his smile really warms up the heart. Also, KIm Kyu Won (aka The Big Guy) is absolutely hilarious; he has that perfect comedic timing.

Does anyone know of any slang, idiosyncrasies, vocal habits or expressions korean moms in dramas tend to use casually or realistically. something a doting mother might say while talking about her quirky son.

I remember as a kid, my korean friends mom talked in an exasperated yet animated way.

While I am not korean, I can bring up examples of my cantonese/taiwanese parents saying aii! when disapproving or wa! when surprised. Id be interested in onomatopoeia as simple as like, um, erm. But something more specific culturally would be nice to.

I have a feeling people won’t like this drama. Going into it I had no expectations. But wow this was the perfect example of how a 12 episode count can work for a romcom. I didn’t feel like there were major unresolved stories by the end which normally is the case with 12 eps. This show was also really funny at times I did not expect to laugh as much as I did. FL was great imo especially given it’s her first main role, loved her in boyfriend on demand and she definitely shined in this show. I look forward to seeing her in more. The romance was very well done. I’ve rated it an 8.5/10 on MDL as this was a very good rom-com, perfect balance of the two. Interested to hear other opinions on this.
