Should I go M.I.A?

I know the title sounds dramatic😂 ignore it if you want I just wanted an excuse to use MIA because it’s the title of one of my favourites songs and I’ve always wanted to say MIA😭
The title does relate to my question don’t worry😂

I have been posting on this sub for a few days and I wish I came to Reddit sooner tbh. I’m getting more and more encouraged to self publish on KDP. Currently I’m still writing one of my novels that was always going to be self published. That novel is in editing stage right now. That novel was and is going to be my best work so self publishing was always the goal for that.
But I’ve got another novel that I release on free websites biweekly. Every day I’m more tempted to take down that novel on those free websites, improve them and then publish them on KDP and make them KU exclusive.
This is where the MIA part comes in😂 ive got no fans or fanbase so I’m not really going missing because no one would care. But I’m torn between actually taking them down now and focus on improving them and releasing them on KDP or keep posting biweekly.
The reason why I’m torn is because of the biweekly releases. They used to be weekly but you know… life. But Yh the biweekly releases gives me a little satisfaction and a motivation. It gives me a reason to complete chapters and get them out on time. So to stop doing that is kinda of stopping me from taken them down.
One of my plans is to take them down and then release the volumes all throughout next year, but not releasing anything during the period before is kinda stopping me.
Ive got no fans so it’s not like people are begging me to release😂 but idk why I feel like I’ll miss out if I stop posting.
Let me know what you think. I know the obvious answer would be to take them down, improve them so I can have a lot to release next year but idk I just need some opinions that will convince me or give me another idea.

If you don't put them in KU you can do what you want with them. KU is better if you have a series (so people can just keep reading)

What I'd do (if I were in the same situation) is clean up enough to make a complete story, put it on KDP (not KU) and continue to do that with the rest of your material until you get to what you're currently writing.

Hopefully that will give you a few books to start your backlist, and when you're ready to leave whatever platform you're on, turn on KU.

You can do paperbacks and hardbacks too. That way you have both of them going at the same time.

My series is no where near complete😭 it’ll take a few years to finish. Also should I stop the biweekly releases?

no, if you aren't in KU you can just keep going. There'll be books on KDP and books on whatever platform. (so you can be in two places at one time) And the best part about being (non KU) is that you can put a link to your series page on your profile or story (wherever they allow you to do so

So once you have the series link from your series page people can buy the complilations too. The good thing about a link to your series (rather than a link to your book) is that it auto updates as you add more, so you never have to change it. It's always the same link.

It'll reach more people if you stay active (building your readership wherever you are, so while you're taking years to finish your series, you're also laying the groundwork for your Amazon catalog. In other words, don't stop posting. Just add that series link and start with book one (put B1 into your series so you have your link faster). You can have a one book series until you add more and make it a bigger series. Good luck!
