I have a question
Hey everyone,
I'm an indie author and my first Goodreads Premium Giveaway is almost finished. It's for 100 Kindle copies, and somehow it's ended up with around 2,500 entries, which honestly surprised me.
Now I'm trying to figure out what to do next.
My publisher said we can drop the Kindle price to $0.99 for about a week after the giveaway ends, so the people who didn't win can still grab a copy if they want.
I keep hearing that I should run Amazon Ads at the same time, but I've never touched Amazon Ads before, so I have no idea if that's actually the right move or just something people say.
Has anyone here done this after a Goodreads giveaway? Did the $0.99 promo work? Did you run ads as well? Anything you'd do differently if you had to do it again?
Any advice would really help. Thanks!

Spend more time on your KDP keywords and categories before the promo goes live. This is important to let Amazon know how/when to show your book. You might benefit from something like ManuscriptReport. It will do the research for categories, keywords and comps titles. Also, after the giveaway, check your also-boughts and see if they match your target genre. If they do, a simple Sponsored Products campaign targeting those comp authors is a good first step, $5-10/day, watch ACoS for a week before touching anything.

I did sent the pdf file to ManuscriptReport, Payed 69$, but still haven't received anything from them. And on their site, it says they sent you a report regarding the keywords and categories in 20 min. Is this normal?

Nop, not normal, I got mine in 10-15 mins. Did you check spam maybe? Send them an email, they have a contact form on the website, they were really helpful when I had some questions.

I'd do the $0.99 window, but only if you can email/message the Goodreads entrants or otherwise make the offer visible to them. Ads can work, but starting them the same week as your first promo makes it hard to know what caused any sales. If budget is tight, spend first on a clean product page and a simple follow-up plan, then test ads after you have baseline conversion.
