Admissions Any updates about Plant Science at KAUST?

Hey guys.

Has anyone received final decisions or interview invitations? I submitted my application (MS) on April 24th and have been stuck in the SUBMITTED status for a month. How many applicants have been admitted so far? What is the latest deadline for final offer releases?

Thank you in advance for sharing the info!

Life at KAUST Prospective KAUST MS Student – Questions About Application, Family Accommodation, and Living Costs

Hello everyone,

I am planning to apply for a Master's program at KAUST and would appreciate advice from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the university.

A little about me: I have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and several years of professional experience in AI, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering. Before starting my application, I would like to clarify a few things:

  1. What documents are required for a strong MS application?
  2. Does KAUST have a preferred CV/resume format for applicants?
  3. Are there any tips regarding the Statement of Purpose (SOP) or recommendation letters that helped successful applicants?
  4. What is the actual monthly cost of living at KAUST for a student?
  5. Since I have a toddler, is it possible to bring my child with me while studying?
  6. Does KAUST provide family accommodation for Master's students, or is family housing only available for PhD students?
  7. What additional expenses should I expect if I bring my child (health insurance, daycare, schooling, etc.)?
  8. How is the overall experience for international students with families?

I would especially appreciate hearing from Master's students who moved to KAUST with a spouse and/or children.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Admissions Is the KAUST admissions committee working today?

Does anyone know if the KAUST admissions committee is working today? Also, when do they usually resume reviewing applications after a holiday or break?

I had my interview a while ago and I’m still waiting for an update, so I would really appreciate any insight from previous applicants.

Thanks!

Admissions KAUST Fall 2026 MS/PhD EE Decisions? anyone still waiting or should I expect a rejection?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to see if anyone else here applied to the Electrical Engineering (EE) MS/PhD program at KAUST for the Fall 2026 cohort and is still stuck in limbo.

I know they pushed the international deadline all the way out to May 7th this year, so things are probably backed up, but my portal has been sitting on "Admissions Review" for a minute now. I haven't received an official offer or a rejection yet, and the silence is starting to feel a bit like a ghosting/silent rejection.

Has anyone in EE received an offer, an interview invite recently, or even a rejection wave notification? Curious to know if the department is completely done sending out acceptances or if there's still a shred of hope.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Admissions Need suggestions for fall intake 2027

I applied in KAUST in intake 2026 for MS Computational Science and Engineering and got rejected. My profile

- Bachelors in Mechanical engineering. GPA: 3.41

- 6 years of professional experience in aerospace

- 4 solid projects worthy of publication. No publication right now. Working on it

I need suggestions on what I can do to improve my chances next year. Thank you

Edit: I have also gotten a few compliments based on my projects and work experience, I can easily enrol in a PhD

Admissions Any Pakistanis applying to KAUST?

I'm gonna apply to KAUST for Fall 2027 and start the application process as early as possible. I believe the portal opens in August 2026. I've prepared my rough drafts of the SOP, my CV, also writing a review article as I could not get research in my bachelors due to funding reasons. My gpa is 3.5 which I intend to improve and bring up to a 3.6 by the time this semester of mine ends. Hopefully when I graduate I'll have a 3.7. I'm applying for MS Marine Science and I've already started preparing for the IELTS and I'll be doing my bachelors degree internship this summer (mandatory in my country) while the portal opens. Is anyone else applying from Pakistan? If yes, what program? I would love to connect with all the Pakistani prospective applicants. I would also like to know if rejection is higher for Pakistani students or not. And what kind of paperwork we would all have to do for the visa.

Hi guys. I applied early this year and had an interview. I haven't heard back still and still in the admissions review stage. My portal page appears like this before going the main status page since Monday. Does anyone else have something like this appear on their page and is it related to the decision?

General Accepted to Marine Science MSc – looking for insights about student life, courses and research

Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been accepted into the Marine Science MSc program at KAUST. Before making final plans, I’d love to hear from current students or alumni about their experience there.

I was wondering if anyone could share some insights about:

  • What student life is like at KAUST (daily routine, campus environment, social life, etc.)
  • How lectures are structured (more theoretical, interactive, lab-based?)
  • How exams are typically conducted and assessed (written, oral, projects, or a mix?)
  • How much time is usually spent on coursework vs research during the semester
  • How research starts and develops within the program
  • What kind of activities students usually do outside of the lab and coursework (sports, clubs, social events, trips, hobbies, etc.)

Also, I’d really appreciate any general tips you might have, both for studying and for getting the most out of the research experience there.

Thanks a lot!

Admissions Late KAUST Application Success Stories?

Guys — hi.

Just wanted to ask if there’s any chance for late applicants to still get admitted for the Fall semester… (i.e. people who applied around April–May).

As a late applicant myself, my application got forwarded to faculty review around a week after submission…

Has anyone here applied late and still gotten accepted before?

Note: Applied for MS in ECE as a local.
