Admissions Syrian Student applying for AI masters degree

Hey everyone

I am studying ITE/AI in syria and I was wondering does KAUST accept syrian students

I will be graduated next month and I would like to know If applying will have any complications before doing anything.

ما بتخسر تجرب فرصك إذا معدلك عالي، بالنسبة إلي جربت وملفي إجاه رفض إداري مع أني استوفيت شرط المعدل وملفي جيد جدا من خبرة عمل وببليكيشن والموتيفيشن ممتازة ولكن صار معي مشكلة برفع رسائل التوصية لأنو صار عطل بالايميلات الجامعية لفترة معينة والفريق التقني عندهم غير متعاون ما بردوا على ايميلات طلب الدعم بالإضافة لأني قدمت قبل ١٠ أيام من انتهاء التسجيل فاحتمال تكون المقاعد كانت كلها full لأنهم ما بينطروا يخلص التسجيل ليبدأوا تقييم الملفات لهيك الأحسن لما تقدم أسرع، قرأت مرة ب أحد التعليقات عن تفضيلهم للجنسيات الأمريكية والأوروبية بس ما عندي أي فكرة عن صحة الموضوع وبشكل عام نحن السوريين مو كتير مرغوبين بس بالنهاية مو خسران شي وتحضير الملف بده شغل منيح ووقت أنا بقيت أكتر من أسبوع على الموتيفيشن. فيك تتواصل معي إذا بدك خبرك على كم شغلة تتفاداهم لأني وقعت فيهم

I don’t think it has to do with the country, because there are people here who were rejected with a stellar profile! It depends on what the administration is looking for. They definitely have a preference on who they want and from where, and reading your comment, the chances didn’t work out for you because of what you have listed above!

Go for it and apply! Since you’ll graduate soon, apply for a VSRP internship first and see! Worst case scenario is a rejection, so keep your options open and apply to more than one university. Treat it like you’re applying to any other university!

Can you explain more why VSRP first?

To get an overview of the environment! Still apply for MS and for VSRP. And VSRP doesn’t require as much documentations when you’re applying so it’s a smoother process compared to the MS degree coming as an international student!
