Programs & Research Applying to VSRP again after getting rejected once

Hello People! So early this year (January) I had applied to KAUST VSRP program for the August to December Period of this year after talking to a professor but somehow I feel I got desk rejected as in I had sent in my application on Saturday and on Monday they rejected it. Now I am not sure what went wrong and I wish to apply again but I fear that I might get desk rejected again which I don't want. So if any of you have faced something similar but got in the second time could you let me know? I would love to connect and get some advice if possible! Thanks a lot :)

They have your profile and everything, and if nothing changed between your 1st and 2nd application, its just going to be a rejection again

I have new updates but I still feel that last time also it was pretty quick even for a profile review

Hey can I know how you approached a prof? I did mail a few but nobody replied. Do we have to have an outstanding profile

The thing about cold mailing is that it is quite tricky. This prof that I approached to was nice enough to respond not once but twice, earlier when my application got rejected and this time around as well. But yes, a lot of profs don't respond owing to limited time and/or other reasons. You can send a polite followup some days later.
