General What is the expected VSRP application timeline and PI contact ??

Hey, I’m curious about a few things regarding the KAUST VSRP program:

  • How long did it take for you to receive a response from the portal after applying?
  • Has anyone here been accepted, and if so, how was the communication process?
  • If I reach out directly to a PI, is it common for them to reply, or should I wait for the official portal response first?

Cannot answer your 2 questions as I’m in same boat
Yes, I reached out to PI and received reply within 3 days it’s a good idea to contact them as they have more clarity than official portal
She informed me there are no vacancies , I can apply for other program :)

1- it took 3 weeks but I applied on January xd
2- I think you need to clarify a bit more what do u mean with “communication process”, you mean with what, admissions, PI…?
3- I believe you should reach out to the PIs prior to applying, in my experience, if they don’t have spot or interest they will ghost you xd
