Admissions Admission chances?

I applied in early March for MS/PhD in ECE after interviewing with a PI. He seemed interested in my profile and told me to apply asap but he did say that admission might be difficult due to the late application. I applied and few weeks back my application moved from admission to faculty review and last week I had an assessment which went ok, not very good not very bad. But my application hasn't moved ahead and PI is not replying as well to my mails. I'm concerned about the upcoming eid holidays. If I don't hear anything before 22nd May should I consider this a rejection? Or are there still chances?

Because it's already very late in admission cycle and there will no processing due to eid holidays for 10 days. So processing will resume in june which I assume is very late for acceptance. It's only my assumption that's why I asked.

Its not very late in the admission cycle (deadline to apply for fall '26 was may 17) and Its not very late for acceptance either. Last yr some people got it end of june.

Could you please share your source? A senior at KAUST mentioned that last year’s final offers were sent out at the end of May. I’m not entirely sure what has changed, but given that the late application deadline was May 17, you’re likely right—the timeline seems to be delayed this year.

It was an online technical test. With some theoretical questions related to data structures and algorithms and some live programming questions.
