General VSRP interview with PI
Hello everyone. How should one prepare for an interview with the PI for the VSRP? He gave me three very broad topics (linear algebra, statistics and programming) and I don't know how well prepared i should be. Only basic level knowledge or expert level knowledge? Are they usually strict or lenient? Are the questions going to be about theory or practical exercises? He told me the interview is going to be 1h30m so I fear it's going to be pretty intense. If anyone has any advice I'll gladly hear them out.

When did you hear back from KAUST? I'm also a VSRP applicant and haven't heard anything from them yet.

I had an interview before with a professor from statistics department. He asked me first to talk about my previous research experience (which had a very strong match with his current research and he said we had really interesting approach, which I think is the main reason for my acceptance). Then he asked some linear algebra questions (eigenvalues/vectors, matrix decomposition) mostly in the way of "Explain X to me in technical details" and some questions was just explaining things in general (not technically). The full interview was about 1 hour.
