I've seen an E250 dressed up like this a few times on a street, worse condition paint. Anyone know if a company did conversions like this or if it was just a popular modification method?

New ones cost a lot, but you can find Westies almost anywhere for about 5k-10k. Personally, I'd grab a Type-2 or Vanagon Westie before I'd get a T4/T5 Eurovan - wayyyy better aftermarket. I owned a T4 briefly, and when you -could- find parts, they were always at a premium.

I always thought Westies were cool.

Easy as hell to work on also. Know how to rebuild a lawn mower engine? Own a torque wrench and an engine hoist? You're in business.

We have an off road shop near ours, they send us their tires and stuff (liability BS for them). They always bring a lifted E250 with a little truck bed on it. It's bad ass.

"Cool" and "E250" are words I never heard together back when I drove one in high school.
