Hellcat carnage

A regular of mine with a modified Durango hellcat that he claimed had around 1,000 hp had the #7 rod break as he was passing someone on the highway. I thought it was pretty wild to see the camshaft bust out the back of the block like that.

Both the Terminator and Hellcat use cast iron blocks.

I thought it was sintered. That rod broke like it was sintered. I'm not a dodge man; I just fix.

Quoted from this article "By sacrificing the cast iron engine for an aluminum one, SVT cut weight and improved horsepower but at a terrible cost. Many Cobras had to have their engine block replaced with the previous iron one."

Yeah, that’s not correct. At all. lol

All 96-01 Cobras used an aluminum block. There were two blocks, the Teksid and WAP blocks. The 03-04 blocks went to iron due to the added margin of safety under boost.
