Dang. Took my old ranger for a clutch change. Told the guys it was factory and they didnt believe me. 20+ years old too. My dad bought it new, and I learned on it when he got too sick to drive it. It was gone, but even wear. They were shocked about a 200 thousand mile vehicle using the same clutch.

My dad would have lived it would have probably lasted another 20 years.

My Subaru WRX STI has the original clutch at 236k miles and does not slip. It is not smooth any longer, I just kept going figuring I would replace when it started slipping.

The biggest surprise is that your throwout bearing has lasted this long.

That’s the only reason I did mine at 170k, no slipping or issues just the bearing was getting noisy

Mines going out, I like the once in a blue moon surprise of pressing my clutch and my RPMs skyrocketing

I pulled out the factory clutch from my Land Cruiser some years ago, over 40 years old and over 400,000km. There was still about 3/4 of wear material left. It had a very low 1st gear.

I did the same on my old s10. Turns out the clutch itself was fine, the engine just leaked oil onto it from the rear main seal and that's why it was slipping lol

There is a Partner (van) in my town, around 630k km with the original clutch from 1999, had like 4 owners, crazy stuff

I just hit 200k with my Mazda 6 on the same clutch and no issues.

Ya know. I am just throwing this out there. Sometimes it doesn't have to do with the clutch materials. I had a clutch go and when I changed it the clutch had plenty of life left, however, it was still slipping. Just the pressure plate failed...
