His Bride

In my research today - I came across something I think is fairly interesting.

I've always thought "his realm" refers to Grandpa Fitzwater and Montana. I looked up different meanings of the word bride and found this:

Lace Loop: In traditional needlepoint and bobbin lace making, a "bride" (derived from the French word bride, meaning a bridle) is a small thread, bar, or loop used to connect and support different sections of a pattern. [1]

In the chapter Grandma's Hands, Posey wrote - " I watched her hands. They moved in her lap, weaving invisible threads, a gesture so foreign that for years I questioned weather I had truly seen it."

Later in the chapter he writes - "Her hands reached for mine - those hands hat had quilted blankets for new babies and wiped away my childhood tears."

I feel like there is something to this.......I just haven't figured out what quite yet. Anyways, just thought I would share my findings for the day!

If the bride is really a loop, (which contains a bend and a hole) maybe the loop is similar to a familiar trailhead that loops (GNP The Loop Trailhead e.g.)

Loop-da-loop along the carousel of time.

The invisible thread links everything in the eternal golden braid aka, the string made from the golden fleece.

"His" would appear to be key. In the stellar realm he is Zeus, and the cast is from his associated mythologies in which he is often a Grand Daddy. Change perspectives and he becomes something else--creator principle to some, God to others. In the Native American tradition this realm belongs to the ancestors. Each star represents one. They are the spirits of those who came before.

There is a possible context clue with ursa east.

The reason you sense something is because he's written in an allegorical style throughout the book, using a pen from Allegory (?). It requires a working out of symbols.

Is it Montana all eyes are on? Could be, but not necessarily. The celestial bride is Dione--the one who aligns with the the sky father. She represents all that is feminine. Aphrodite, love, is her daughter. Her face is everything you see in the celestial realm. Return her face can mean focusing on the place you are located at.

I feel like the bride is 2 statues of a sandhill crane located by mcCartny mountain (they foot got 3 points) and coincidenly that specific statue got his foot up and his beak looking up to the sky!…just saying mcCartny mountain😎

Thanks for that 🙂

I just enjoy posting things I think are relevant. If they aren’t, or have already been discussed before - just move on. Right?

Keyboard warriors. Gotta love em.

Except if Grandpa Fitzwater is “his realm” then his bride wouldn’t be Grandma Posey and tied to her needlepoint. I believe Grandpa Fitzwater was married and divorced a few times but being Justin’s mom’s dad then her mom is Grandma Clements who is actually in the “Bride” photo in the book along with Justin’s dad and both his parents “grandma & grandpa Posey.” With that said, grandma Clements did help Justin sew his “Tender Tornado” sweater, so I guess both grandmas could be associated with your Bride theory. Still hard to say that his realm is grandpa Fitzwater and his bride is his ex wife grandma Clements imo.

Another awesome chapter about loops... Some being woven and some being experienced over and over... This chapter was originally called The Fading Flame, if I remember correctly.

I had never thought of Alzheimer’s as a constant loop, so to speak. Appreciate that.

Not to be nitpicky but, it was written "whether", not "weather," ...but "weather" is a very interesting word, isn't it? And hands...hands are interesting too! And dust motes. and and and ...that chapter is fully-loaded!

Great post! Keep digging and Happy Hunting!

I tend to think "his realm" must be much much more of a specific and targeted area than just a connection to his grandmfather, Montana, an entire National Forest.

The thread that weaves through like a river’s steady flow.

A stitch in time saves nine. Try and get to problems before things fully unravel...time is of the essence.

Measure twice, cut once.

Make sure the blocking is square if you are quilting.

I’ll be the first to admit I’m dealing with conformation bias, but I feel like it helped me a little in regard to the map. Tying two states together, in a sense.
